It is with great sadness that I report that Amos died last weekend. He was the only male from the cross between Dual Grand Ch. Outlaw Billy The Kid x Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Deana. He would have been two in January. He made Nt.Ch. at 14 months with 2 first's and a 2nd with the leaves off. He was the loudest redbone I have ever been in the woods with and had so much potential to be a great addition to the breed. It was a devastating blow as he was becoming my favorite dog and we had a big year ahead planned for him in competition. I will never understand why so many of the greatest dogs seem to be taken at a young age....but we will keep trying to produce better.
Of the four crosses that I have made with Billy semen, there have been very few males produced from those litters and with Amos' passing....that makes 4 or 5 of the males from those litters who died young as they were showing great potential. It's tough to see that happen, but I am happy when I look on the redbone board and see so many of the other pups from those 4 crosses doing so well and winning in competition. I couldn't accomplish the goals I have set if it were not for all the friends I have out there across the country putting in the time, and hard work to give all those pups the chance they deserve....to those people I would like to say thank you for your help and support...I appreciate it more than I can ever put into words....Shane
