I just made a post about it.
http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthrea...threadid=190300

Fantastic turn out with some VERY influential guest speakers. Allen Gingrich was there with a presentation on the numbers of hounds registered in Indiana, and how many owners. It shocked me how many there were! This is JUST UKC registered dogs too. You add in dog's that are only registered with other kennel clubs, and it will be even more! If memory serves me correctly, there are well over 8000 individual owners of hounds listed for Indiana. You add two or three or more dogs per individual registered, and you can get a good idea of how many dogs there are.
The Indiana conservation law enforcement division was there to speak as well as their color guard. Talk about an impressive presentation of the colors & arms! Very moving.
The conservation officers are working hard to change the mind set about coonhunters and educating their officers and all specialized hunting groups. This is very evident in the presentation that was given.

There was close to 250 people there, and the donated items for the auction and raffle were fantastic! I think there was over $5000 raised between the raffle/auction items and new memberships.
This organization is one of the best things to come about for all tree dog fanciers, and they are working very hard to keep our rights to hunt our dogs for many years to come. It you aren't a member, please consider it. They are working for you!

I was there with my wife Teree and some close friends had a great time the food was good the Speakers were great and the fellowship better than the rest.
To the HTDA officers and board members KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. You have started somthing great and I feel is the future of Indiana Treedogs. If I myself or the Shelby County Sportsman's Club can be of any help just let us know. I thought the data that Alan had was great and it's good to know that Sam Purvis supports the coonhunters like he does. Again a wonderful event.
