What a Banquet!

If you weren't able to attend this event put on by The Hoosier Tree Dog Alliance you really missed something special! Top notch event and turn out guys. My hat is off to you!

The organization had a fantastic first year and are working for all tree dog enthusiasts and their rights to free cast their dogs and hunt in this great state of Indiana. I was very impressed with the program last night, and the guest speakers that were present. Getting the bow hunter's association on board is HUGE! It proves to me that the closed mind set of some of the specialized hunting groups can be changed. It is a step in the right direction. It shows me that all folks young and old and everyone in between can enjoy hunting and the natural resources in Indiana, and that we can work together for unity so all can enjoy what Indiana has to offer. Strength comes in numbers, hand in hand with education!

I look forward to next year's banquet!

Tammy Newlin

There were several people involved in this success.

I want to say thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and hard work. I was extremely happy with our success.

Our biggest success came from our members. Sponsor Clubs and individuals who believed in us. Thank you so much.

Here are the final numbers sent to me by Jerry and copy and pasted here:

"With all credits and debits since the first of the year included we brought in $9,624.00 and paid out $5,917.90, netting $3,706.10 for our efforts.

Our bank account balance now stands at $10,490.25.

I still need to do some final checking, but I believe our membership roster is sitting at about 172 members as of 2/3/08."

So what do we do with it?

-We have two slots reserved for campers at the Karl E. Kelley Memorial youth camp. $500

- We need REAL info pamphlets printed for our organization

- we need to fulfill our pledge for HTDA hats

- We need to start our "land acquisition fund"

and the list goes on.

No time to sit around, we have to start planning for next year.

Thanks again to all involved.

Thanks so much Doug! It was a lot of fun putting it together and I was just flabbergasted on what it brought! I thank team Blazer lights for purchasing it as well as the Coon Brand sweet potato poster. I think it brought $200.
I definitely will come up with something unique again for next year.
