Just Got It

I been hunting hound several years beagles and coonhounds and always heard people say they either got it or they dont. I always seemed to find if I worked a pup very young and put in alot of hours training they would hunt maybe not a worldchamp but would make good hounds. On the other hand if I would get busy and not get the time in they turn out not so well. I got a female redbone pup last year and then my wife got pregnant and time was not there. At almost a year and a half old and having plenty of coon shot out my older dog treed which see loves to fight see hadnt done anything in the woods. Last night she was going nuts in the pen so i went out and turned her loose she almost run me over to get to the small patch of woods behind the house and went about 50yds in and treed like a champ everybreathe. I ran got a spot light and there was her first coon. Unbelieveable!!!!!! Cant wait to get her back in the woods. Maybe she has just got it.

Sitting will do strange things

Alot of the time if they aren't hunted young when they need to be its pretty common for them to float along and then boom it's like ok well I think I've got this figured out now and they just kick in. That being said some don't get it when they need it and they loose it completely. Luckily, for you sounds like yours had the lightbulb moment. Pet her up good and don't let another big lag happen and you should be good.
