If you staying at Quality Inn Batesville Ms Next Weekend Check your Bank Account

If you are staying you might check your bank account ...

I was charged in full for 2 rooms that I have booked for next weekend last night. $422.34 a week ahead of time.

I did call and they processed a refund for the charges but I was told this was standard procedure for major events.

On more strike against this Hotel Owner.

I explained that the majority of us travel multiple weekends a year for MAJOR events and we do not have problems like this anywhere else. Of course I just got the poor guy that answered the phone but trust me he heard and ear full.

Lisa, They did the same thing to me. Dont expect to get your money back for 15 days . I cancelled my room and will not do business with them.

Oh I will have it back before 15 Days or I will be sitting in his Hotel lobby for 3 days until I get my money....

Plus I made him email me the receipts showing me where he processed my refund. I will make him eat the receipts if I dont get my money back.......

call QI Customer Service and complain:800-300-8800
all they have told me is that the property may have a policy in place and it depends on the reservation you made. that it also should be on their website...which it is not.

just got off phone w/ CS who called the hotel asking about this policy. she spoke with Shane and he told her that there was a policy that they will charge hotels 2wks in advance of the stay and that it has been in effect since before he started in Sept or so.

she said my card was charged as well, but I have not seen a charge yet. (*I did see the charge for one room since I told them someone else will be getting the other one) however, he was reversing the charges today.

I informed CS that something like this needs to be in big bold letters on the website for those that reserve online and it is not there. she assured me that it would be updated.

way to go MS.

Dont' worry bout sitting in the lobby/. If you don't rec'd a full credit for the charge RIGHT QUICK tell the OWNER that you will contact your credit card company or bank if you used a debit card (hope not) and that you will alledge they committed credit card fraud or wire fraud in the case of a debit card. If a credit card gets to many complaints on charges or reversed/disputed charges from a single merchant they WILL no longer accept that merchants business.

I stay in hotels ALOT and many will bill/charge your card for the first night's stay as soon as the reservation is made. BUT I'VE NEVER HEARD OR SEEN ONE CHARGE FOR THE ENTIRE STAY IN ADVANCE.

As soon as this was brought to my attention, I got on the e-mail and phone with Batesville. We are working diligently with the hotel owner on this matter and certainly apologize for this situation.

As soon as I hear anything, I'll forward this on, but can assure you that we will do everything we can to make sure this does not happen again.

Again, my apologies and I do hope that this will not dampen the enthusiasm for this wonderful event. The UKC travel staff is very excited about this venue and town and hope to pass that excitement along to you.

I look forward to seeing everyone next week and wish you all safe travels.

We have just received an e-mail from the owner of the hotel. Due to the fact that he is not at a computer, he has asked that I post the following on his behalf:

Tanya,

This was a bad error made by the staff at ONE of our hotels. This person has been reprimanded and I told them this special event is not to be treated like our other special events. I did not give authorization for any advance billing. Every guest that was charged will be refunded and apologized to. I apologize on behalf of my staff and assure you that corrective action is taken. Please convey my apology and regret to the members.

I told you we will do everything we can to take care of the UKC and I assure you that I will do my part.

In short, it was a bad mistake made by one of our hotels and the refunds have already been processed on my end. Our other hotels have not made this mistake. Hence, you should know that this was a genuine error.

Please respond to the discussion board on my behalf.
