I was barred once. Could not have dogs reg. in my name could not participate in any sanctioned event.

A person who is suspended or barred is prohibited from the following.

#1 Transferring dogs into their name (joint of full ownership) Note: Barred or suspended individuals may sell dogs that were registered to them prior to the date of barring or suspension. However, no dogs currently registered in their name may be transferred to any family member.

#2 Using dogs that are registered in their name for breeding purposes. No offspring are eligible for registration with UKC.

#3 Signing any litter registration in any capacity.

#4 Participating in any UKC Licensed event, including, but not limited to owner, handler, back-up handler, Judge, guide, vendor, spectator, Master of Hounds, Bench Show Judge, Judge or Director for any Conformation, Performace or Companion event, and are prohibited form holding any office in any UKC approved club or association.

#5 Receiving Championship points on and dogs registered in their name (joint or full ownership.)

#6 Advertising in any UKC publication or internet site.

#7 Receiving monetary payouts from any UKC specialty program,including the performace rewards program, the beagle incentive fund program or the Merit Club program

Any violation of these sanctions or any other UKC rule or policy during the time period which the individual is barred or suspended will result in their being suspened indfinitely.

You can be on the grounds UKC can't tell other clubs what to do and who can be there but they can't have anything to do with anything.

Its not UKC property. All they can do is keep the barred person from being a part of the event. They can't keep them from being there. Read # 4 again, it says participating

I don't need to call anyone. You asked a question, now you don't like the answer. I don't write the rules I just try to go by them, you should try it and see how it works out for ya, may like it. Participating is not being on the grounds, it means PAR-TICI- PATING. " being part of" it spells it out pretty clear.

I agree the should not be allowed, but they are. No where in the rules does it say other wise. If they were not allowed then # 4 would be easily read as can't be there.

We had a club member barred, called UKC for clarification and he was allowed to be on the grounds and could even participate in non-sanctioned events such as the treeing contest but was to have no participation in UKC events. This has been several years ago but that was the "official" stance back then.

They must of, I can't find the rule book from 23 years ago. But if I were barred I can not transfer a dog to my brother. However I could sell my dog to my best friend, who could in turn sell it to my brother.

I always wondered about the "Suspended Indefinitely" I have seen severel in years past and some in present in and around the area I live. Suspended Indefinitely or so you would read in the Blood line magazine. Give it six months to a year go to a hunt and there they'll be hunting in a cast with there next big thing. Indefinitely is Indefinitely how are these guys doing this or do I have a misunderstanding of the meaning Indefinitley?????

I agree $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ But my thinking is the sport could grow to an even larger number if when the trash is found and taken out leave it out! This might prevent some of our younger hunters from turning to something else and stay with coonhunting. I have two wonderful sons my oldest is twelve both pleasure hunt with me regular when school doesn't get in the way. My oldest son has been at me for a while he wants me to take him to a hunt and let him handle. That would be great but I always think back to those few that may turn him against this great sport. So until UKC and PKC keep the trash out I'll wait until I feel he can handle it.

When I was barred I called ukc and asked if I could go to B&T Days and they said I could. Just could not spectate or hunt or show.
