no offense dude, but that's not a very big buck. My 9 pointer went 185 lbs field dressed and he was just decent sized. My dad killed a 11 pointer that was 212 field dressed. And I've seen bigger than that. Our big does around here go 150. But I understand that big is a relative term and what is big for one place is just average for others. I figure there are probably places that have deer that make ours look small, too!

Our hunting guide ranks the States, I think Kentucky is third, a big Buck here is 200 to 240.

NH has many deer killed over 200lbs. every year. My personal best was last year, 182lbs dressed. Like anywhere, there are huge deer killed every year...and a bunch of small ones. Just remember, you cant taste how big they are.

Naw...some of my best eating deer were bucks in full rut. Last years deer was some good eating and he had tarsals you could smell from 20 feet! lol

Besides, Jack Daniels marinade will make a road killed skunk taste good lol.

A guy gave me one a couple years ago, shoo I would have to drink the whole bottle of jack before I could eat that thang. Another Friend tells me he can make them worth eating though. Soaks them in Worshire sauce or something. Give us your Recipe. Thanks

One thing that I learned a long time ago is that deer start out 125 pounds in the woods when they hit the ground, grow to 150 or 175 by the time they are dragged to the truck, then after 3 people try to hang it everybody swears it's 200-225 pounds.

Then when put on the scale it will be 112, LOL.

It takes a big deer to be 200 pounds field dressed.

Of course up north there are plenty of them.

Not too many down in Tennessee though.

Lot of truth to that...LOL

We weigh every "big one" we get and sometimes I swear that scale is broke...some of those deer got to weigh more than it says they do!!

By the way I wasn't dissing anyone's deer. I primarily hunt for meat too. Been hunting for about 25 years now and only got one on the wall out of countless numbers killed. The doe in the pic is definitely a taker in my book!
