Last two just make reference to coon dogs throughout the song not really about coon hunting or coon dogs. Still good songs though I like them anyways.

I'm working on a CD with nothing but coon hunting songs. Trying to find the best ones and just use those. If I ever get it finished I will make copies or try putting them up on here for you guys to listen to. At the very least if I can't figure it out I will list the songs along with the artist so everyone that would like can look them up for themselves.

Harvey Drawdy from the Darlington S.C. area has been singing and recorded some coonhunting songs for a long time. He is a retired school principal and is active in the Black Creek CHA and is a hoot to be around. He cooks a mean fried Rattlesnake nugget too!

David Cooler is a country Music artist from a small town near Orangeburg and has really been a big hit with the folks attending the Coonfest on thursday nights prior to the start of the Garnd American. He has several coonhunting songs and is featured on the Gand American video on the UKC homepage.

Anybody have a CD with any of these?

Here's a few I found on YouTube and around the net but I can't find them available for download. If some one were to take the time to find and compose a mixed CD with these I'm sure they'd have no trouble selling them. I know I would be among the first to buy one. Here you go just do a search and you should be able to find or hear most them, I would try YouTube first though. Enjoy

I don't know Run Pete Run by jimmy Martin so thanks. Also alot of songs by Asa Martin are great coonhunting songs we sing to the ladies after a hunt and a few toddies!! ie The Preacher and the Bear. The Burglar and the Old Maid. Johnson's Old Grey Mule.
