thyroid
your dog has low thyroid.
Did they have a tick disease?
Did you use frontline?
none apply.

The thyroid subject and issues are way deeper then What you have listed. Many dogs will have a low thyroid as a secondary effect from tick sickness. Many times when the tick issues are resolved, the thyroid will also. Frontline isn't the best preventive to use compared to others on market today.

Frontline causes low thyroid?
Active ingredient was link to low thyroid in people. Just trying to see if I can find a link in dogs.

Used Frontline on the dogs for the first time probably 10-12 yrs ago now. Was not impressed with its effectiveness and it wasn't the cheapest thing around either.
Switched over to a Permethrin based product in Freedom Spot on 45 and haven't looked back.

I have one dog that had elichria and a low thyroid, my vet ran blood work and, came back with low thyroid, he said you can tell whether it is low from tick disease or if he has a low thyroid problem. He had a double whammy with both, but is fine now. He comes from a family where low thyroid is common. The second dog I just had checked because of above dog showed no signs was clear of tick diseas but suffered from low thyroid but not as low as above dog. Never used frontline on either dog, always been fed diamond extreme athlete.
