Garmin ? 2 of the same collars?

What do you do when 2 collars are overriding each other? Had that happen the other night when a buddy came up from a hunt. Neither of us could track our collars. My second one worked fine.

Also when buying a new collar how do you know this won't be the same freq as one I already have.

Probably a simple answer to these questions that I just overlooked.

You can change the collar frequency at any time

Your best bet is to do a search on this forum "garmin tips and tricks" you should be able to get all of the answers you need.

ID numbers are crucial

One night I had mine number on 15 and my buddy had his on 5. They were interferring. I went to the program to change my ID number on my collar. It would not let me use 25, 35, or 45. The manual lists four different frequencies that the collars may use. I have not heard it directly, but my thinking is the first 10 numbers is one frequency, the second 10 is on the second and so fourth up to 49. Then the last digit is the actual code to distinguish the individual collar. Like I say, that may not be the case, but.....

If your going to be hunting with this buddy alot the best thing to do is add your collars to his unit and his collars to your unit that way they never interferre with each other.
