Thats right Ralph. He's a little biased by name branding his frozen biscuits when I said Grand canned biscuits. When he gets this bored ya hafta keep a sharp eye on him.

Get the thin ones. They are the best. Tarbaby you are supposed to keep them a secret or they will run out. The thin ones always go fast. They are better than my wife's but not as good as my mother's were.

Posted by yadkinriver on 06-23-2018 03:37 PM:

Thin ones? Horsebiscuits? Last ones I fixed I threw out to the dogs. Dog took one bite, spit it out, then went to licking it's butt trying to get the taste out of its mouth. Moma's homemade cathead biscuits don't count since they would win hands down and Tar didn't include them in the poll.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 06-23-2018 04:01 PM:

You just don't know how to cook them. The thick ones are too doughy.

I always wondered what kind of people eat them store bought biscuits.

I wouldn't buy Wal Mart brand if they were the best and 1/10th the price. Im sure they're made in Mexico or China and if not by an underpaid American..

Unlike you Jim I guess we just trailer park trash!

Ouch! Mr. Tim you are a gentleman and a scholar. No matter if frozen or canned I can cover them with sausage gravy with sides of scrambled eggs, fried apples and a slice of homegrown mater and you would think i'm a magican the way I makem disappear.

I don’t care who you are That Was Funny.

The kind of people that shop at Wal Mart are the kind that eat frozen biscuits.

Posted by yadkinriver on 06-23-2018 07:58 PM:

Seems we are often referred to as "deplorables".

Posted by yadkintar on 06-23-2018 08:06 PM:

I grew up dirt poor we often times made do with a lot less. I can remember commodity can goods all it said was corn , beans , ect we didn't care where it came from either lol.

Biscuits

Tar, it's really hard to find a real good biscuit, so I usually order toast with real butter. I will say that some of those frozen biscuits aren't bad, they just aren't good. Lol. Dave. P.S. Please lay off those fattening foods, you are going to wear "my" recliner out!

Shooooweeeebaby the canned lead is growing!!!

Posted by BigContry on 06-25-2018 08:10 PM:

melt a whole stick of butter (real butter) in a black iron skillet. pour into a bowl with about a 1.5 - 2 cups of gold metal selfrising flour, and enough sprite to mix into a soft dough. Roll into 1.5" - 2" balls and place in skillet. mash them down till they cover the skillet. Place a peace of butter on top of all biscuits. Bake at 400 until golden brown.
A little mayhaw jelly and a cold glass of milk. Hard to beat!!!

I'll bake a pan tonight and measure everything out so I can give you the exact amounts of each. I never measure anything, I just do it by feel.
