Slam hunt question

Back during the finals of the world hunt in Louisiana they held a slam hunt. All of the dogs competed against each other. Registered, NTCH and grntch. We were talking about slam hunts and someone said that they were to be broken down to registered only. And champion only. What is the proper way? My club is thinking about hosting one

The format has changed. Now they separate them into reg and champions.
