Professional Handlers

Does the handler make the dog or does the dog make the handler? I have heard this question many times but this pic gives new meaning to it.

The kids had fun tonight it was great having them go with me. What’s cool about this all of this is Boone now has taken all three kids on there first coon hunt. Garrett was 2 when I took him for the first time and Boone was just 1.5 years old, Hadleigh who is now 6 went with Boone on her first hunt when she was 2, and now the youngest Marlee who is 2 got to go with Boone on her first coon hunt. I’m glad they went with me for a drop!!!

My 1st dog was a Red Bone, he could treee a coon as quick as any dog but had a wild streak, once a week he would just leave the country I usually gathered him up by day lite but many times it was a day or two before I got my hands on him, I sold him to guy in KY an 6 month later I got to missing him an bought him back for $300 more than I sold him for, I kept him about a year and he started that crazy crap again, this time when I sold him I made the guy understand I could not buy him back no matter what I offered LOL.

Love it when kids start hunting. My 9 yr old boy is really showing an interest in hounds now.
That’s a great picture.

As far as starting out with a redbone. My dad whipped me with a leather lead strap for bringing one home once!!! I learned my lesson.

Richard back in the day !! i had everything from redbones to plotts and all in between !! little shep!! thru in there !! first guy i hunted with had two redbone females back when i was about 12 yrs old !! we hunted all nite !! i miss him today !! only guy that could make me say uncle !! hes resting in heaven now !!
