Thumbs up Modern Day ((BANJO)) dogs

I took a little drive to check on some young Banjo's. They look mighty good to me! There will be more to come from this line of dogs..

Good to hear Preston. I'm working a my female now, she's the only dog on my place besides a Lil mountain fiest. The male I had didn't make the cut, its a shame he looked pretty good by himself but had that uncorrectable fault I couldn't bring myself to deal with & sure didn't want it reproduced.

Smile Brian...

I got started late with these coondogs...but my very first hunt was with you, cole, Jon, preacher... And I was hooked..! I remember Jon was quick to put on a clinic when hunted with every other dog I seen him unsnapped with.. I never knew at that time I was among greatness, to follow a dog of his caliber..! I will give you the credit you deserve too in finishing Jon. It's just my opinion but It takes more effort here in the south to start dogs.. With all these freaking armadillos.. Deer, hogs.. And them big gators. I'm not sure what people up north go thru in starting, hunting dogs, but I do think there is definitely an advantage. Ok Brian, correct me if I'm wrong.. And I will be the first to admit I don't know as much as others about our breed, but isn't Jon Henry, sandy creek jake the two most money winningest redbones..?? So to answer your question about how I liked hearing that banjo.. It was awesome..! I still to this day have not hunted with a dog of Jon's caliber.. I'm sure there out there, but he set the bar for me...! I thank you for the help in the past, and the help I have yet to receive...! Cowboy had his 4th vet appt. today.. Some stitches removed, more stitches added.. More antibiotics.. Still got about 2 months of recovery left, if we can keep infection out, he is such a energetic, smart pup.. I remember our last hunt you said I needed some of this fireball blood, well.. I'm loading the kennel down with the best that I can get... I should be getting a nice little female around July.. I think you know how she is bred.

update

It seems there may be a full brother to Banjo3 that is going to sire a few pups. It should make things very interesting to say the least.

Ken

Jon has won a lot but their are a few hounds with just a Lil more money won between him & Jake at this time, However I'd like to see Ole Jon surpass Jake & take over the top spot!! He has what it takes if nothing happens to him... It hard on a dog down here, I see posts where dogs are treed at 600-1000 yrds & even some over a mile, thats almost every other night getting struck where I hunt!! I see posts about den trees with hair so the coon was there! Lol I'd think they'd leave hair coming & going wouldn't you?? If I have a dog treeing dens there better be more coon sitting on the outside of those trees than not or they got to go! Den after den with no coon seen is a backtracking dog no matter how you cut it... Glad to here ya pup is getting better I hope he comes right though this & makes a nice hound for ya!!

Preston, I should have 1 straight off the 3 dog in a few months & I can't wait!!!

Brian, that sounds very good. That's going to be another history making cross off the 3 dog. All joking aside I'm pretty sure Banjo 3 is going to go down as the very best reproducing stud our breed has had.

Happy Easter Guys!

Preston I'd like to get my hands on that male but moneys tight these days, I hope whoever gets him will promotes him. I think the 3 dog will be 1 of the highest % reproducer this breed will see for a long time, he's proving to reproduce on any female bred to. I can't wait to get another pup out the semem soon..

I had the pleasure of hunting with Skinny and Holly, they are nice females, Derek is a nice guy and I will go ahead and say that anyone looking for a good bred pup should get ahold of Derek. Those 2 crosses they have made will be good ones. Good job Derek
