Looks like a nice Black and Tan won the senior supersakes this fall. Congradulations to the owners.

I don't see it as a huge surprise. The odds are that if the B&T breed has 1 in 20 entries, they will win 1 out of 20 hunts....if they are just as good as the other breeds. If they are better, they will win more than 1 in 20, or whatever the ratio is.

But some folks cannot comprehend that and if Walkers win 15 out of 20, then they must be the best-est.

This is the 2nd major win by a B&T this year, remember KS Gem won the truck hunt earlier this year.

I don't buy the odds factor, it hasn't added up yet.
But will give great credit to the black and tan dog that won.

John a few months back I went to a hunt 4 walkers and 12 blue dogs = 4 cast with walkers winning them all. What was the odds?
I went to a hunt back in the spring 18 dogs all walkers exept 1 black dog. The black dog was the only one to come in with pluss points. What were the odds? I know that they play a roll but I dont think they play into it that much. Oh ya the black dog was a littermate to the one that this thread is about. Whats that tell you? Good hounds from a good cross NOT ODDS!

Congratulations to that dog and its owner!

You don't have to tell me about an outnumbered B&T winning a hunt, Myself and alot of others have been there and done that.

The odds are just plain mathematical facts. Take 1 B&T and 19 Walkers and hunt them in 20 hunts. If the B&T won 1 time and each walker won 1 time, it looks like Walker dominance when in fact, they all have exactly the same win record: 1 win in 20 tries.

Now, let the B&T win TWO times in 20 hunts, TWICE as much as any Walker and see if any Walker followers would admit which breed is better represented. They'd just say Walkers are better because they won 18 out of 20 hunts.

I can't make it any simpler than that.

People accuse me of being color blind. The truth is I will hunt red ones, blue ones, black and white ones, yellow ones, black and tan ones, or even brindle ones; Just as long as they are English!

Phillip I agree with you on the odd factor. The reason Skipper won he treed more coon and did it on his own by himself. He did not have to get apart of everything and hope he got one by himself or the others would screw up. He did it alone and did it right alone. If we had more bnt's that would want to do it alone and have coon the percentages wouldn't matter. JMHO
Congrats again to Team Skipper!!!!!
