why is it?

Why is it that in this breed (as well as others) that if it's not your dog, or your breeding, it's either mean or not worth the food it's fed?

I'm friends with many different people, many of which have different lines and it seems to every time we start talking about the dogs that are winning, they are mean or the handler is cheating to win... I personally think it's ridiculous.

As many of you know, I favor the outlaw breeding but if I find a dog that is better than what I have, you can bet your toush I'm either going to try n buy it, or try to get one bred like it. In no way am I opposed to any lines, besides the ones that I have already found out dont work for me, not saying they are bad or aren't good but they just didn't suit my needs.

What can be done to stop all this hate and, more importantly, jealousy?

Some folks are attention junkies and when it's not about them they try to make it about them . Normally they make more enemies than friends in the process so hence the lashing out

1st I not sticking up for anyone or am I trying to bash anyone, but when I see well known people trash another persons dogs that appear, on paper , to be well bred dogs, I tend to shy away from doing business with both parties, not saying I won't do business with them , but I step back and say to myself whoa, gotta think about this, there are many who never bash others and they may have just as good of dogs but they are not --full of themselves like some who say their dogs the best.
1 I want to treat people like I want them to treat me
2 Don't ever think that you or I have the only good coondog.
3 Keep an open mind, to where you can see the other mans dog, good or bad.

Nothing turns me off more than a man bashing another man or his dogs. My late Mom always told me "if you can't say something good about somebody don't say nothing at all

to many people way over think it just like when you say there has never been a rat attack or a mojo or any of the other breed famous studs people start by saying we don't need slick tree'rs in our breed ................it's not that that people should be referencing too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not that at all would I like to have a stud that everyone wanted a pup out of probably not that just not my cup of tea but would some others that have the time and money to pour into it I bet if they are honest they would say they do
it is a very tough breed for sure I don't know why but everyone has been real good to me and hope they know that I would and will help how I can

I have made a mitake of.

This reminds me of a mistake I made many years ago: I heard negative things about a dog, so just to be safe I decided it best to stay away from that dog and anything out of it. Later on I end up hunting with the dog and found out that what I heard was a big lie. The dog and type of pups it produced were pretty much what I was looking for.

concentrating

Maybe the best thing to do is concentrate on the good and complement it when you see it. Ignore the bad and make no reference to it.

Negative thoughts will fill in the places where positive thoughts can thrive.

There is a pile of great people in this breed and many of which I can't wait to get to know better. The Redbone people are the best !!

I agree with you. I found the best way to not look at the things on here that bother me is to go to my user control panel and Block the user that tends to be negative. Trust me it works and makes for way less reading when you already know you disagree with that person.. There isn't a need for folks to have to go back and forth about anything, just use the forum tools they help...

Just do what works for you, and don't worry about what anyone else does... I haven't followed this board for over two years (until about a month ago), and this thread is a lot like many that were posted back then. Nothing has changed, and I don't think it will. The best way to deal with "that guy", is to be sure that you don't become "that guy"! :-)

The best way that we can deal with these things is just to measure ourselves. And we need to be a good examples to others! We need to make sure that we have good clear motives for what we do. Some should ask, why do I have redbones? Is it about me or my name? Or is it because I love the breed and I want to help improve things? Is it about helping or hurting! We also need to be praying for each other!! God's blessings as you raise and love your Reddogs!!!

I have always thought critisizm by those who are trying to do/be better at something they are serious and passionate is a good and nessesary thing. It initiates good debate and opens the door for others who are passionate about the same thing to exchange new and differing ideas. Its the jealousy and personal attacks that ruin it for everyone. I have been working with many other people behind the scenes to improve this breed and many others have extended a helping hand to me....and I appreciate that...a lot. I don't mind the critisizm of certain aspects of our breed....it reminds all of us of the areas that we need improvement. But I think we can do that with out trashing individuals or particular dogs. Any dog who is alive now will only be improved by its owner...but dogs from crosses yet to be made may be improved by all of us by working together and sharing information and resources to help the breed as a whole by making better crosses. This board could be a lot better for the breed if everyone used it for positive conversations, idea sharing and recognition....instead of bashing, trashing, and tearing down other "redbone" people and their dogs.....
