Let me guess, your unit has been out of warranty for 2 months and they would not fix it for free???

Worse people to deal with is a conclusion, tell us exactly what happened.
I have never had nothing but excellent service.

nope had it about two to three months brand new with reciept from cabellas ,and it shuts it self off two to three times a night,i call them the first time they wanted to do a update no problem we did it I tried it a few more weeks same problem call again and they wanted to do another update I told them I just done it with them and they finally gave me a rma # and dock number but they don't want to send me new one they want to send a refurbished one..so I asked is there a problem with these they said no but I haven't talk to one person that has one that hasn't sent it in one to three times,so must be some type of problems they have refurbished one's to send out!!!!!!

Had to deal with them one time and couldn't ask to deal with better people, very help full and courteous and helped solve my problem!!

I haven't had to send any if mine back to them.. what does it matter if its a refurbished one or brand new one if it works? Most of the refurbished ones look brand new anyway.

I bought this alpha aug.6th 2013 called after having it a little while month maybe,the problem was right away I thought maybe I had something set wrong like battery saver or something so I asked a couple guys that had them. one guy said he sent in three times before he got a good one, the other guy has the same problem as mine but it's the only one he has so he couldn't send it in yet!! now the first time I called they had me update it no problem we did ,tried it for another couple weeks same problem call them again they want to just update it again and see if will work, i'm not in to keep calling and trying updates till my alpha runs out of warranty,,, so when I called today to get a dock # ect..the first guy wouldn't give me one.so I hung up on him called back right away talked to another guy and he listened to me and said he needs a copy of the receipt before he can give me a dock number and info to send it to him I said ok i'll put copy of receipt in the box, he said no I need a copy of the receipt before I can give you dock number , i told him I don't have a fax machine nor do I have away to get the receipt in my computer to email it(i'm not that good on to computers and sure don't know anything about sending emails),he said ok we'll have to it this way he'll give a dock number ect. but when I send it in they won't send me a new one it has to be refurbished one because he didn't see the receipt before sending it to them, I told him I would send a copy of the receipt with the alpha and he said that wouldn't work!!!!!! bottom line almost 1300 dollars for it and one extra collar. to me it's a lot of money for something that you can't count on I carry it and my 220 same time because you can't trust the alpha!!!

to me it's like buying a brand new car the engine goes out soon as you get it home you call them and they tell you they put a refurbished motor in your new car, might work for you but not for me !some people have low standards and are easy to please,when I buy something new I expect it to work 100 % like new or replace it with another new one

because I paid for a brand new one , I don't buy a new car and except used carpet or doors on it .. if I wanted a used one I would go on here under other and buy one

I'll buy it from you. Just lost mine the other night. I love the alpha and garmins customer service. I have had bad luck with other companies but garmin has been great to me. I've had every system they have made for dogs. I had a collar die on me, they said send it in. So I did and they sent me a brand new collar with charger and every thing.

100 dollars less than it cost me new and it's yours ,,for warning junk ,,I wouldn't recommend it !! It's unreliable and you'll need another back up if you like what you hunt ,,I have roads here in indiana and can not have a half working system

Honestly, try giving them another call. I have talked to a couple of their people, who like you said, want you to do a million updates and so on. Ask to speak to someone higher up. These systems cost us a lot of money that we work hard for. Sounds like you got a bad one. They want you to keep buying things off of them. That's how they stay in bussiness. You paid for a new one and that's what you should have. If you get a good one you will really like the alpha. Try being very polite when you call it really helps and the women seem to be way more helpful.
