Used to be around here if You had a wch You could count on doing a lot of swimming alone. Not anymore !!! At Cole Camp Mo. the last two times there were 7and 5 wchs !!! No telling how many will be here for the state race in Aug. Wish You could be part of it .
I know the breeding on Your dog pretty well on both sides and it looks to Me like He's all "COONDAWG" !!! CYa

That's pretty impressive!! We don't have alot of WCH around Alabama, matter of fact the only ones that I'm familiar with is mine and Alan Anderson's. Wish we had more, these water races are addictive!!

stone hill

we will def be at cole camp. we will be in troy iowa the 6th and the 13th for show and water race. we been letting him swim when we fish the past few days and he is looking good. tryed our bluetick out to day. she cant swim. we think she had been hit by a car before we got her. she jest dont kick her back legs. Ill try to get some pics from troy and video of the race and how friendly the water side of the sport is.

The Coles County Coon Hunter's Association of Charleston, Illinois is planning on having some water races in the near future.

Here is a video clip of some good club members helping the club get it's pond ready for some swim races.

The video says it all, some guys want to help the club any way they can. My name is on the credits but I didn't do any physical labor, I am not able to do much these days. Also, I had to get Frances Gail taken care of at the house so I could leave for a short while. We are hoping she can attend the club hunt in November.

The starting gate box will still need to be built, the cable restrung, some fencing to be erected, and possibly, some more brush cut, so maybe some of you other members can help out next time. I am going to donate some chain link fencing.

One of these years I am hoping to make it over! Seems like something else is always going on a little closer.
We are taking the kiddos to the MO State Youth on Sat. and Eddyville, IL on Sunday. Water races both days.

Ya'll have fun, good luck and be safe in this heat. Even swimming, those hounds can over heat quickly!

Rosie and I had a good run in the field trial at Millstadt, IL on Saturday. Good job to the young man and his redbone that won line in the heat where Rosie got 1st tree!! Rosie squeaked in with 1st line and tree in the final. By my calculations that should finish her to FCh!
I had a fun, but very brief, time in IL. Very nice and friendly people there! Then I hit the road to make it to Troy, IA in time for the water race. It was a YEP event and I want to give a big thanks to Ethan for handling Rosie!! Unfortunately, she was a butthead! The water level was a little low and she found herself a spot to swim under the fence and run the bank. She spends her time while swimming just looking for that spot to get out and run, so maybe a WR title isn't in the cards for her. But we have fun anyhow!!!!!

I'm kicking around a trip to Wilton, WI this coming weekend for their field trial and water race. It would be awesome to be able to finish her to GrFCh before the end of the year, but there's a lot of good dogs she'll have to compete against. I love the fact that once you unsnap the leash (FT or WR) the end result is 100% up to the dogs (and what the judges see)!

Hope everyone else racing and swimming dogs this past weekend had a good time too!

Does anyone know if they run any non sanctioned waterraces at Kinder MO club or is all their races licensed races ? Thanks for the help.

i am bring copper to cole camp on the 26,27 and Keytesville on the 28
