LOL !! I guess I shoulda posted that ... Especially since everyone helped me and I thank everyone for the info and all responses.. I am planning on going to see GRNITECH Skuna River Bear... Dwills hound.. And if yall take a look at his pedigree posted on this board you will see a female on it called NITECH Little Woods Smooth Silk and she was something in her day... I owned her and she was nice and fun to hunt.. That being said ... It's not the reason I decided on him but it helped..But the real reason being after talking to some fello hunters ? The Bear dog is the Real Deal and I think he is what I'm wanting in a stud.... I have a picture of Silk on a old post of mine called good dogs good memories and good pics or something like that... But Bear looks so much like Silk in color and the way he looks on the tree.. Thanks again to all that helped out .. Chris

Change of plans

Well as life would have my Roxie has came in, but timing is so not good for me right now financially and family related to make the trip north to see Daniel Wills and Skuna River Bear. So after talking it over with some true coon hunters and friend ( Boo Wright) I'm staying closer to home this breeding. I've talked with and made a plan to go see a really nice hound over in Tennessee that's owned by a super nice gentleman. but thanks agin for all of your advice and info !! All was appreciated Thanks Chris

Thanks Coonbuster, I may go that route next year (chilled semen) if it all goes good.. I've already made plans for her to head to Tennesee in the morning to see Bandit a dog owned by Mr. Mel Whitlow... He's a an older hound and a really good one so I'm hoping for a cross that will produce some nice hounds. He's not a hound with a resume of titled dogs out of him, since he's only had 1 litter and i think only 3 lived with 2 making really nice dogs which were naturally trash free.. No junk to break them from and the other never hunted but most of all he is a Coondog !!!! Here's his pedigree:

Hardwood Bean or Wild Card if i was going to breed to anything in the walker world right now. But there is a super nice grand nite down here that throws a great pup. I have hunted with and own one of his pups now. Out of the 9 or so pups all of different ages, 1-7 yrs old. they are all coon dogs. but far as top studs.... Bean or Card can't go wrong

Im going with clean next year at this time. Im doubleing up on the maniac blood have made to crosses with doubleing up the maniac and they r young running and treeing seeing the traits im wanting. Iv hunted the maniac blood for 15 years now and havent found anything better .

the biggest thing about pups is getting them in the right has if this dont happen then everyone wants to say well hes not reproduceing. I have raise three litters out of my 2 dog guess wat they didnt all get in the right hands alot went to pleasure hunters not comp. So this is another thing u need to think about bfore u sell your pups toget pups pups put there to help the stud u need to make sure they go to comp hunters.

Hey Daniel, yea we will definitely give it try next time, hopefully with a Lil more preparation time. Lol ... Yea I've Benny told by numerous hunters I trust that Bandit is a coon dog from end to endso I'm hoping for best. If you get a chance check out the pic of the Silk dog on a post of mine. See if you think they resemble? Just use search engine and put in Skuna River Bear and it will be one of the post.. It starts thank the Lord for good dogs ,pictures .. Etc.. U could tell better than me if Bear looks like Silk..

I have been reading this thread and saw where you were talking about the Pine Creek Dogs a lot and thought u might recognize some of the dogs in the backside of Sids pedigree. We have spent several hours talking with Lyndell Price about them. Seems like a nice line of hounds. Have u hunted with any of them? I think The KC dog was out of Prices pine creek drum who was out of prices pine creek casey who was out of carolina casey. I have all their pedigrees in my pedigree program and can trace them back a long ways! Lol

My old dog was off Stan's Sailor Boy. I think I had one off Carolina Casey. Mr. Mathis gave the pup to me. He had a pin in his leg and Jim figured he would not be a comp dog. I never got the papers since he was free. He learned quick and since I was headed off to college I sold him to a couple of fellows that had big money. He was probably the most hundreds of dollars I have ever made off a dog in 40 years. They loved him for a year and bred him. Then he quit hunting. Just Plain quit. They never got mad with me about it. Little they should. They blamed it on breeding him. Unmarried and all.

Hey there,
I spent quite a few nights in the woods with Drum along with Blue,Lou and Joe which were 3 TWs and 1 Bluetick... Boo Wright,Danny Huff, Scott Bowman and myself walked to a lot of trees that ole Drum and the rest of our hounds made. Drum
was a really nice hound , rarely did any of our hounds tree in front of Drum, which made Some of us ( Scott ) lol !! crazy with envy .. Wanting so bad to put it on him but never did lol!and Boo would just smile when Drum slammed coons on our dogs! That would have been in the 1981 thru 1983 time period, man that was good times!!! Lyndel bought Drum from Wimp Wright which is Boo's daddy. Wimp and his brother Silveon has owned some really nice hounds, Wimp as did his dad called their hounds Pine Creek with Silveon calling his Tinker CreekHbbhbey If you look on either their dogs papers (wimps or Silveons ) you will see where they are always making crosses back in forth. What I like about these honunds are that if it's got Pine Creek or Tinker Creek (which i almost consider one in the same) on its papers I know without a shadow of doubt they are Coondogs, the Wrights won't feed dogs that ain't ...its that simple !! But yea Carolina Casey and Nell are the beginning to what 'they hunt today..
