Derailed???? You can look at the front end, the female that you have, or you can look at the back end, where she came from. You started a discussion about bloodlines that reproduce strong foundation females to while away a snowy winter day and that is what you got. Do you think that we should limit it to only 2 or 3 generations?

Blakesley brought Timber Chopper in through Chickahomany Max (son of TC). Blakesley's Northern Red Chief was a a grandson of TC. This was in Roy Blakesley's later dogs however from the late 60s. There was no TC in the Blakesley line until this.

While it's true that TC seemed to reproduce his greatness to his offspring better than any stud dog, there are still some good females that came from Swing Red Rock and Woodpecker bloodlines.

Oh my goodness, the new Top Reproducers List is out and 2 very nice females out of Mr Woody Brinson's Gr Nt Ch Ranger are on it now. I didn't see him mentioned above. Are there any other extra nice females directly out of Ranger out there? Are there any extra nice females out of Bembe or Ky Kate? Where has everyone gone?

Don't forget redbone days winner and Grand Nite Champion Brewin's Miss Piggy...direct out of Ranger. And Justin Jayroe has a nice female out of Billy The Kid x Piggy...only one female in that litter. Still not a year old yet so time will tell...

Luke rhone and Doug Moore both have nice females off of ky Kate Danny biggert just purchased a male out of ky Kate that they expect big things from

The Ranger X Kate cross was sure a no brainer. Two Purina Champions and UKC Redbone World Champions. It is also a shame that there was only one pup from that cross. I wish that I had a super nice Ranger female to breed to Boone. Since Gr Nt World Champion Redbone Woody is out of Ranger, he should produce some nice females when bred to Ky Kate. They would have 3 UKC World Champion Redbones in their pedigree.

Richard, do a quick look at the pedigrees of the titled dogs out of Ranger , you will see strong reproducing females in most all of those offspring.

I don't just was under the impression this was a thread about females ky Kate is a female and her mom was a female that reproduce top females that reproduce top females off several studs last I checked ranger was a male and hasn't changed his name to Jenner 😛

Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Breanna has produced several good females from some of her crosses... Gr.Nt.Ch. Outlaw Cherry Bomb, Nt.Ch. Outlaw Breeze (3/wins towards grand), Nt. Ch. Pistol, and Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Trip (3 wins towards grand).
I just picked up Trip from Danny and she will be bred to Dual Grand Nite Champion Ky Moonlight Woody semen next week at Nevergone.
We will see if she can add another generation of good reproducing females to this line of dogs...

This will be a very interesting cross lots of top females coming in from both sides and putting in several super crosses and doubling and tripling on several of the best in breed history
Loaded with many of the best reproduces in this breeds history and look at some of these dogs wins just how many top 20 world hunt show up in this cross off top of my head buster red woody ranger and Kate oh my goodness how many breed winning purina dogs show up 😎

Yes. Anything more is just nostalgia. For example, what people alive in the Redbone breed actually know from EXPERIENCE and first hand knowledge know what traits Timber Chopper threw? Id say less than a dozen still living can actually claim to have hunted with that dog yet people still claim his "line". I don't understand that. Is the past so great that you can't see the future? You keep looking backwards and guess where you will go????

Chris, I get what your saying. I am a big believer in planning. The redbone breed as most other breeds goes back to just a few main dogs. That makes it easy to always say the dog goes back to old so and so..dead and long gone . So now we have to plan for the future.

Pretty hard to plan without looking back some.
I would say always look BOTH ways before you cross.............................the street.
Good luck there's some nice ones out there to choose from.

All right then, how about 1 generation. Not much "planning" involved. Breed a nice female to a nice male...Steve-O X Chilli. What a "list" of extra nice females produced. They don't come much nicer than these. I have hunted with 3 of them and really really like all 3. I have heard such nice things about the 4th one that I went and bought her.

I guess that if you are looking for an outcross of bloodlines that has been shown to "work", it would have to be linebred Rusty Red X linebred Fireball.
