Funny

I read all these post about dogs fighting, not backing down, suck it up buttercup, I've hunted mean dogs. But if they were being sold on the board they wouldn't be ill at all.

I know it happens, seen it happen and all I can say is if your not putting them on the card for fighting then its your fault if you draw them again.

I have had a few good bear dogs none of them needed to fight each other to tree a bear.
They may have to tree for hours before you can get to the tree if there is any face barking you will find dead dogs at that tree.
And if you bear hunt with a face barking dog you will
Be hunting alone unless you deal with it at the tree the first time it happens.

37 yrs of competition hunts have taught me one thing for sure..... If I enter 4 hunts and have dogs fights or face barking on 3 of those 4 hunts my dog is part of the problem.

Maybe I just have bad luck And drew the only 3 dogs out of 1000 that face bark.
Or maybe it is become more important to win than how you win.

I will tell you and anybody else my dog will face bark if dogs go to bumping around on him and jumping up and down on him I don't mind it, but I have saw dogs put there feet on his back and tree and never heard a of bark, my dog has fault 3 dogs in his life ( his twin brother ,a mean walker and a blue dog), and he hunted with 100's of dogs and that is what I expect to see at the hunts dogs that don't put up with bad treeing habits ( those are the ones that start most of the problems)

I agree on your last statement. I have had males that jacked the tree and fased barked, but were not mean. It seamed the tree jacking caused more problems than fase barking.

With luck like that you should have stopped in Vegas on the way home. In 37yrs I've been scratched twice, one I deserved and I was glad my bitch finally decided to give tuffy a lesson in tree manners, the other was because I was beating the breaks off em and that was the ONLY way the judges buddy could win.

Face barking

I have read all of your comments and now I think I know why there are so many face barking tree dogs in competition.
You guys act like it's not happening and attack any one who says a dog was face barking.
I ask how we could fix it and you guys tell me that it must be my dog starting the problem by jacking the tree or my dog is a wimp and should fight back or it should tree a lone those all sound like a lot of excuses to me to not deal with the problem.
And bluff country I don't know why you feel like you need to make up names to call me when my name is on my signature it's (Brady)

Well Bradley nowhere in my post did I call you any names you should reread them. And while you're at it answer some of my questions I asked.

Posted by rob thompson on 03-01-2017 11:35 PM:

Personally I hate a face barking dog aswell as a mean dog and won't hunt one that starts trouble, I don't want that reputation. That said I don't want my dog to just pack up and leave if it gets a little wild. All they have to do is stay out a the way, back up just don't leave.

It's your job as a Handler and trainer to make sure that your dog is either completely alone or has enough common sense to stay at a tree with other dogs when treed. People like you are killing the Hunts. If you and your dog are not completely trained then you have no reason to whine or complain. Did you file a formal complaint any of the nights that you felt that you were wronged? If not suck it up buttercup !

I got one got u for u bluff. He's pure gator and ain't been whipped yet. I bet you'll tap out. Seriously though why do people doubt so quick? The one I hunt right now if bumped or crowded will blow and/or face bark. He also won't back off the tree . 3800 in PKC earnings . Bad breaks happen if u play long enough.

Now that's funny

Posted by bluff country on 03-02-2017 02:02 AM:

I agree that is funny it sounds like he is doing a little face barking and running the tree himself. I just have one question for you Bradley did you vote for Hillary?

Posted by tln70 on 03-02-2017 02:51 AM:

When a dog has the other by the neck chewing on him/her it's called adjusting for position. Ask anyone that hunts one of pos,it's adjusting. The worst part of it when you get one that is better at "adjusting " then the gator their hunting it's your dog that's ruff and the cry like a baby that lost its binky. Let's get real it happens all the time (face barking, tree jacking, blowing and dog fights) and if you are serious about hunting competition hunts you gotta have something that will stay. Right or wrong that's the way it is.

Bad Experience

Brady regardless what everybody says all of the above happens. Weather people want to admit it or not. But that being said you have to have a hound that can adapt at that level. What ever it takes, to get the job done regardless. I could write a book on things that happen in night hunts.

Yes I agree with you Ed I think I just got an overload of bad experience on that trip. But I didn't let it ruin my trip I met some new friends and visited with some old friends.

simple..

take a look at what your packing. i will not pack something to a hunt unless it gets to itself a majority of the time & with what i have drew out in casts some deserve to have their face eaten off maybe teach them that it's easier to be by themselves than it is to pack up & be on another tree w/ a dog. there is no reason why there should be more than one dog on a tree unless you tree one right out of the truck..
jmo..

So if two or three dogs end up working the same track if you get put in thin coons then one or two of them should quit the track and not tree if they aren't the first dog to the tree? Yea I'm gonna have to disagree with you there.
