The people around my area that are complaining about these style dogs are doing it because they can't beat them. Different strokes for different folks .

haha! arrogance!

I personally know that coonhunters can get purty darn far down and still make their way back to where they can hit the woods again. Positive attitude makes all the difference. We don't live that far apart. When you get back to full strength again, and you will, we should put a hunt together.

Its not arrogance at all. It's a fact. It's a competition. First strike first tree two looking down and eat up hunting time . It's like football game other team out of timeouts and your team eats up the clock. You can call it arrogance , I call bringing home the yellow slip with the money, truck ticket, national ticket etc. return on my investment . Arrogance would be telling you if you can't run with the big dogs stay home on the porch!

I have never understood why they call them "dead" loners.

I know where 2 dead loners are withen 50 miles of my house. Both are walkers and both win a lot.I don't see any negative effects from them being alone all the time. They tree more coons then most and don't pass up many. After hunting with both of them I sure want one.
