Do away with the nickle and dime state columns , non chartered columns and such that are printed but only read by a fraction of the buyers.

Same for the monthly writers that haven't had anything good to write about for years and just pump out fiction stories that nobody would ever buy , let alone stop to read if they didn't snag a place in the BLoodlines ...

Offer color ads at a discount rate .... the half page and third page color ads are still more than color ads in the breed albums ... the breed issues lose out to the breed albums immensely because of this .... there is no reason to buy a half page color ad when it cost more than half of what a full page ad does ... it doesn't push us to go ahead and buy a full page ad ... we didn't want one of those to begin with ... the half page ad is for those who don't want the full one , just a good value on a smaller one ...

After next month my subscription runs out, if they will leave the new champions, the performance list, & upcoming events online, I won't need to renew. Thanks UKC for putting this online, I will save my subscription fees. That is doing what is right for your patrons, put all the magazine info online & save your customers some money..... I've been getting bloodlines sence 1986 and it has always been one of the first things I look at. If Ukc needs more money cut Todds paycheck. Just joking Todd. But please bring it back.

I think the new champions list is one of the most read sections of the magazine. Hate to see it go. I look for pups I raised in there every month. Harder to keep track of them now.

No New Champions section in there again this month? Really? I am about to say goodbye to my bloodlines, no need in subscribing to it everything I read in there is online..... You know you pay a subscription for a magazine with these things in it then they take it out..... May call & get a refund.

The magazine is printed a month ahead of time. So if they are planning on putting it back in it won't take effect until July Issue.

No perf Sires either this Month,,I have bred sevral females because older fellers that don't Have a Computer got my # from the book,,My subscription runs out in October,,Guess I won't be taking it anymore

Frank, if you'll check your May issue you'll see the Performance Sires list is going to run quarterly in the CB. It doesn't change enough from month to month to justify running it 12 times a year.

Glad to see so many people speaking up on this . I posted about this first of month got very little response. The new title section is my best way to keep up with titled pups out of my dog , it's a lot easier than calling ukc and being on hold for 30 minutes each call . I guess as a group that supports ukc , and their magizine , r we suppose to keep funding and get less back ? Nothing has been mentioned about the ads in the back with dogs for sale . Has anybody on here ever bought a dog from these ads? I don't even look at them any more , for a while there is was obvious that most of those ads were dog traders .

Asking the paying customers ahead of time would have avoided this in the 1st place. Trying to save a buck will end up costing them money. I know I'm not likely to renew my subscription when it runs out.

Why not just charge 10 bucks a year to be a member, use the website, etc...might stop a lot of bs post and negativity here also...I will pay it!

I would agree to a membership fee , I pay 20 a year to Pkc in return get the prohound each month , it has all the info anybody needs on dogs winning .

I guess the people that pay UKC for there Stud to be advertised as a performance Sire now only get 25% of the advertising of there dog for there money, is UKC going to lower the performance sire fee for only advertising 25% as much???????? Why not leave these things as they are, cutting things from your magazine will only cut you subscribers.....SMH

And again UKC has not put the new champions or the performance sires list in this month's magazine or the top 10 bench show dogs, why are they taking the stuff MOST readers look at but yet leave the BS stuff in there..... I know I am not renewing my subscription, I'M DONE with this junk..... When I paid my subscription I paid to see these things & UKC is not providing me with the product I paid for. JMO

I think they would get a increase in profits if they would lower advertising rates,yes they would lose some on each ad but I would bet they would double or triple the amount of ads if price was cut down 25 percent.ive thought about putting ads in but can't justify spending that money on a half pg or pg ad for one month.

A membership fee would be awesone. $10 or $20 however much would be fine leave what matters to people in and takeout what don't. I won't be renewing my bloodlines of changes aren't made I'll stick with my PKC pro hound magazine and look on UKCs website for their info.

UKC is pricing themselves out of range for most hunters, there book is the highest of all the coonhound books, it doesn't have very much ( That I read anyway) in it anymore, no new champions list that a lot of hunters use to keep track of the offspring of there hounds, no top 10 show dogs ( I don't have a dog in that fight but a lot of them guys & gals spend thousands of dollars traveling to shows all over the country & don't even get any recognition) & hundreds of Performance Sire owners don't get their name printed in the magazine but 3 times a year for $100....... Come on man, UKC better catch up because they are not the only game in town any longer....... But as usual since Mr. Fred left is all about the bottom line, that why it cost club's more to hold the hunts, it cost the clubs more per dog entered, it cost the hunters more, your papers have went up & up, & the magazine is down to 160 or so pages........ UKC better realize sometimes you have to spend money to make money.... We hunt plots & was going to run a ad in the Plott issue but found out it was $400 & I can't do that, we ran ads for several years in a row when we was running our Thunder dog & it was a heck of a lot cheaper & the magazine had 250 plus pages in it...........I am about done, I don't think I will spend anymore on the coonhound bloodlines myself either..........
