I like this theory just look at Kate's crosses on pep doc ace and ranger rocky x Maggie rat x raven they all fall in this me and t-top Tom even talked about this even brought this up on the board once found out really fast stud owner don't like this theory
Now Bo good hound mouth colder type nose steady tree dog no bad holes but not one trait that sticks out well rounded hound

Oh my goodness, Bo doesn't sound anything like GD Red??
Sally was pretty quick to open because her mother was a babbling idiot. All of Sally's pups that I have seen open a lot on track and when you line breed them you get a lot of mouth.

Posted by Sawblade on 03-23-2014 11:56 AM:

something for everyone

I know people that hate a babbler and would much rather own a silent dog . Same can be said the other way around. I have seen men that will shock a dog to make them tree by themselves, believing that being split every time always wins. Others like myself want a dog that can and will tree wherever they find the closest coon no matter what other dog may be there. So it's really makes no difference to describe the traits of the stud honestly, somebody is going to want them for breeding those traits.
I am interested in trying some of the Rabble blood. I want to pick the stud out of him that has the quickest strike and the least amount of hardheaded independence. I don't want the one that has to or tries very hard to get treed by itself. Also no aggressive dogs. sometimes hounds are split tree artists because nothing else can hang with the fang. It sounds to me like there should be a couple out of Rabble that will fill that bill. Who are they ?
This isn't meant to be a way to run down any of the studs. Good info is good for all.
Richard I will have to stay clear of the Sally stuff ,my dogs got too much strike in them sometimes too. It's my experience that you can breed that out in just one cross.

Well

I was just getting geared up to post a book on Moose the strong points and what I see that is consistent in his pups. Sally stuff is out so that saves me a lot of spell checking...lol.

Duece and gd red

My experience with pups from duece and gd red is that they are very quick to strike. They will back another dog buy will also stand alone. I've only hunted two young females from duece. One is exceptional strike and track dog, the other is quick to strike, average track, pretty good tree dog.
The male by gd red is quick strike, exceptional track, and above
average tree dog. I can't speak for the females they were by. John dell owns mother of three gd red male. He might can add to this to help out. I'm taking my female by stone to Deepwoods Rocky. I've been impressed with the videos I've seen from him and his pups and all the people I've talked to about them. They seem to be quick to strike and have plenty of tree power! Plus they are extremely loud, which most grand pups from Rabble Rouser are!

Ok

can anyone name the sons or daughters out of Rabble that have produced a niteCh offspring and if so how many. I want to see which ones got the stuff as far as being a reproducer like their daddy. Please add the name of the mother if you can.

He is 11 months and just starting but has treed alone with no encouragement (he also disappred for four hours and had my neighbors cat treed on her front porch 1/2 mile from home) Hope the new one makes the coon dog Rush is . These are the only ones I have been around but I like these so far.

If you want to know/learn about the "T-Top" hounds, just go to the Rabble Rouser....Next Generations thread on the stud dog forum and start at the very first post from 5 years ago and read them all. It will take some time but it sure is interesting to see where they came from.

I've got a nice nephew to Rabble here. He's not a first strike dog. Short bawl on track, long dying bawl locate, then a steady chop on the tree. He doesn't sound loud but you can hear him a mile plus out here. When he opens you can bet it's a coon and he's going to get treed with the meat a great majority of the time. Once he's treed you can bet he'll be there until you get there. I have a niece to Rabble that is a real nice dog too. She opens quick and is very loud. Big bawl on track, big bawl locate, steady chop on the tree. She hunts hard and is really good about having a coon when she trees and she will be there till you get there. I have a young dog out of these two that got some good from both parents. He goes hunting good, big screaming bawl on track and gets a few first strikes. Fast track dog. Huge locate and then a steady chop on the tree. All 3 have pretty good noses, they move a track very well and put it on a tree. All 3 will tree layed up coon if the coon aren't moving. All 3 are pretty good about having a coon when they tree and stay till you get there. All 3 are far from perfect but I like them.
