Oh I forgot........CBS reported......

.The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office.
I guess thats how they give more than they take in.
Just a little tidbit of info........Oklahoma has a law in place which requires no debt....aka... not spending more than you have. Imagine that .

Your post makes no sense ,it was more about cleaning up the mess than the truth but that was expected. Thanks truly,mis-mang.naw but shows how the states depend on gov.and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Once again these post by the romney voters proves why they lost.

The Indian tribes in oklahoma are sovreign only up to a point. They do not pay any federal taxes, is the main thing. They do have to go by all the laws that each individual states do. They are still under the federal government, but they elect their own government officials, judges, and so forth. They have a lot of power, but no more than the states do.

The Indians might have gotten the shaft back in the day , but they got a pretty good deal now .... they got a monopoly on cigarettes and casinos .... don't pay taxes on it .. almost like a miniature China in our own backyard .

No other conquered people have ever gotten that sweet of a deal ... or the deal that allows minorities and immigrants so many benefits when it comes to education and starting businesses.

When you look at the big picture , not sure how anyone can say America has treated other races wrong now that the dust has settled.

It don't excuse sins of the past , but hard to swallow any nonsense about the present.

This list is a few years old, data comes in slow on some of these numbers. But note that Oklahoma gets $1.36 back for every dollar sent to the Feds. Now you have a little better feel for which states are the moocher states.

Truly,

If you take into account the overall cost of ownership of these federal dollars, the cost is much more than the $1.00 sent to the federal government. There is all of the federal regulation that costs the states to enforce. It's a proven fact that states do a whole lot better taking care of it's citizens, in a whole lot more efficiently than the the federal government....

I was taught in business school that there are three different types of lies....
1. Lies
2. Dang lies
3. Statistics

Numbers can be presented any way you want to prove your point.

The work was done by Tax Foundation. I came across it at Mother Jones. It has been widely published in many formats:

Funny thing is you guys only need sources from posters who post info that is not in line with Faux news thinking. Never see a righty asked for their sources, except for me asking them. And they almost never come through on it.

Mother Jones (abbreviated MoJo) is a politically liberal American magazine source...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_Jones_(magazine)

Tax Foundation......Tax Foundation research is generally critical of tax increases, high business taxes, so-called "sin" taxes,[13] tax preferences for the housing industry,[14] and use of the tax code for "picking winners and losers".

source.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_Foundation

Interesting you chose a sourse critical of tax increases and high business tax yet back a candidate that is the opposite.

Find anything newer than a 7 year old list yet?

I also find it interesting that it was mother jones that released the Romney "47%" video that just happens to be missing between 1 and 2 minutes. .....Selective Edit?
Romney called for a complete video of his remarks to be released.
That now turns out to be impossible, either because Romney's remarks were never recorded in full (as Mother Jones now claims), or because some of his remarks--perhaps mitigating some of the controversial effect of his statements--were selectively edited out of the tape by Mother Jones or its chain of sources (including former President Jimmy Carter's grandson).

I didn't really feel picked on by you. There has been a long history on this site of questioning info put out by left of center posters, while anything posted by right of center posters is taken as gospel.
Unfortunately a lot of this info is dated- sifting through tax info means that there is a serious lag time between tax being collected, redistributed back out to the states, and when we get to see the data.

Conhtr1- This list should include gas tax. It is a total of ALL TAXES COLLECTED WITHIN THAT STATE THAT ARE FORWARDED TO THE FEDERAL GOVT. then compared to all money sent back. which may include assistance to the needy, supporting underperforming education systems, ag subsidies, oil, energy, and transportation subsidies.
Basically it is a window into the redistribution of wealth in this nation, on a state by state basis.
Those of us who are on the "giving" side of redistribution scheme aren't so much complaining about it, we are just wishing that others who talk so much about the "givers and takers" of this world would acknowledge that they might just be in the "taker" category.
