fishers

We have them around here. Pain in neck when hunting dogs. I believe they were stocked in Pa to kill some of the porkys but there are plenty of them now also. A friend of mine has treed fishers and shot a few out.

BIG MALE

THis fellow has been munching on a couple chicken carcasses and posing for pix. His tail is approx 20" which makes him about 40" or so long! he is WAY bigger than the juvenile female we had mounted in the earlier pix.

He'd LIKE to drag that carcass off... but we tied it there for Pix opportunities! If we don't tie them the yotes run thru and grab them with a flash of tail... If we want pix of foxes, coon, possums, skunks and FISHERS... we need to tie them. If a trespasser goes thru there... I'm sure they will have a look of horror for the cam! My son and his fiance said it looked like something out of a horror movie! LOL...

WOnt have new pix for a bit...no hens look ready to croak...

LOL... Been REAL lucky so far... our BIG OLD chickens have been spared...but neighbors have lost some. We close the barn up tight at night with MOST of them inside(and the raccoons WELL fed up in the hayloft-with 2 more cams LOL)... We have a few smaller chickens out back I worry about who have a little shed in a shed they sleep in... Fingers crossed....
THere were tracks in the light snow of something bigger than cat and smaller than yote from the back of the property to the back barn door....cause of the wind I couldn't ID them but I'm wondering????

We LOVE the cams. The one outback where the fisher is was orignally JUST for security with new construction behind us... but it morphed into my favorite pastime! I LOVE to see the critters......

STAY WARM! Heather

PS.... BRRR!
