Yes I read copperheadcreek's reply. I go to hunts to have fun not to argue. If someone suspects that I am cheating using a cell phone then I would put it away. If as you say you are not gaining an advantage with it then why have an arguement about it. I use my cell for emergencies only on a night hunt. If there is a family emergency then I would withdraw and attend to it. If someone calls because they found or caught my hound and called the name on the collar or if someone has found my dog laying on the road and called the number on the collar then thats a good reason to be on a cell phone but when it is causing a conflict on a cast for using it for other reasons then just put it up and dont ruin the hunt for everyone else !!! I personally dont like to argue on a night hunt and if it comes to where you have to argue then I guess I will not hunt in the hunts anymore. Simple!

My female opened up again right about where I had struck her and I walked over to the brother of the idiot who was judging pointed my finger right in his face and siad NOW TELL ME WHOOSE DOG I STRUCK!!! He said yea that was youre dog but it's to late now. I said youre dam right it's too late. I have zero respect for those two brothers. My female got treed right there and had a coon and I had 25+ instead of 200+. 250 dollars is a little to much money to waste getting screwed.

Why,FIRST OFF....If you point your finger in another handlers face on a pro cast,you WILL get a much needed vacation.SECOND THING.....IF you are in a pro hunt,you my friend didn't VOTE on anything that happened on your strike,or anything on the cast for that matter.PRO RULES partner and the judge is "god".Third....if you get your phone out to play with to start an arguement than you are the reason so many pleasure hunters won't give a nite hunt a second look.I can't say that I blame them.If men are this hard to get along with around here I'd probably just pleasure hunt too,because that just doesn't sound fun to me either.

got a question how can conversing scores help you...

I was on a cast one night and the score card got soaked we had another one but it was at the truck so the guy took out his phone and text the scores to himself...Now what would we have done if we didnt have that phone...lol...now this was a AKC hunt but i thought it was worth sharing

Most cell phones are equiped with a speaker phone; thus, couldn't there be a rule requiring any calls be heard by the entire cast. I don't go to the night hunts, but tell my wife not to call unless an emergency if I am pleasure hunting with someone. I believe it is rude to be socializing with someone and then start talking on the phone about nothing important. I hunt with others for their companionship and to hear the dogs work, if I wanted to talk on the phone I would just stay home. I don't; however, think it would hurt to call a land owner for permission. That being said, if I was constantly causing controversy by using my phone to keep time I, along with most sensible people, would just get a stopwatch. I personally don't see anything wrong with what SCRedboneran did, but if he was to be scratched it should have been done on the spot.

stillwater is right this is why pleasure hunters wont go to comps. i for one woulnt go if you paid me,its not about the ability of the hound anymore its about the handlers and who knows the rules the best,when competion hunts go to who ever brings in the most coons by sun up wins then i will start.

i own a business, i clean up murders , suacides, and all kinds of bio-hazards under no case will i ,nor can anyone make me put a call on speaker phone. put yourselves in a familys position ..... you call me because your family member was murdered and while you are telling me what happened and that you need my companies services you hear in the background..... MAN CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT MADE A MESS THAT BIG....... first of all my phone calls are noones business but my own , second i think the first amendment ( freedom of speach ) makes it clear that under no case can anyone make you take a phone call on speaker ...... jmo mike

I have a question about Allen's answer on when you can question. I understand the rule and I know you must question at the time the situation occurs. However within the past year I have twice witnessed two different instances where a judge minused a dog at the tree, both times for being off the tree, and failed to announce it to the cast. Nobody knew the dog had been minused until the scores were gone over back at the truck at which time the handler that was minused asked for a cast vote on the minus. The judge shot right back that it was too late to question the call.
How can you question a call at the time it occurs when judges fail to make it known to the handler? I suppose that is a situation where the new rule that can bar someone from judgeing should be brought into play.

Mike, I'm from Ohio. Be more then happy to take you out a few nights, anytime just let me know. This is the worse time of the year as far as coon movement goes in Ohio though. The rut is in it's early stages right now and it will be some lionger chases and tracks from now until late January.

Has anybody figured out how to get their garmin information to show up on their cell phone?

If not, its only a matter of time. So, now someone playing a video game will be Alt-Tabbing over to see where his dog is.

Just think of the stink and the fingers in the face thats gonna cause...

Brian, keeping time on your cell phone isn't the part that's annoying. Someone playing games or calling their friends etc. during the hunt and doesn't have their full attention on what's going on is. Experience my friend. I twiddle my thumbs to keep me calm. You should try it. lol.

Jim, we both know a judge making "unknown calls" obviously isn't doing their job responsibly. Probably a good reason to take a break from the position as you suggested.

treberta i hope you never pull me cause im gonna try my best to get you scratched...Come on you aint to serious about comp. hunting if you are playing games on a freaking cell phone while your at a hunt...No wonder people get into alot more arguements up north than down here cause people like you...You can take this or leave it this is just my opinion of you and you aint gotta to like it buddy...
