Coonhound Bloodlines: Upcoming Issues

As we're getting ready to head into a new year, that signals the start of a whole new volume of COONHOUND BLOODLINES MAGAZINE!

Here's your chance to offer suggestions and input on who/what you would like to see in the magazine!

Please comment with the name(s) of people or dogs that you would like to read about. If possible, please list the breed, how many years involved, and why you would like to see them featured.

Interested in seeing something else featured? LET ME KNOW!

Feel free to e-mail me at - camopup12@hotmail.com if you would like to submit a suggestion that way.

Thanks,
Laura Bell

I would like to see my name in there more often.

I have made this suggestion several times. There should be an article done on Winston Aarons and the Skuna River dogs. I have heard from several sources over the years that he is a wealth of treeing walker history and information.

Personally, I have never meet him, and I have never really been a Lipper fan, but I respect the opinions of those who have told me about Mr. Aarons.

I second Larry mr. Aaron is a wealth of knowledge. I would also like to see articles on some of the best English dog men. Calvin Hayes, Ed Bates,

A list of the top all time reproducers in the breed for that month or a top ten in each decade

Laura,

I had also suggested to UKC that historical reprints of old articles for the various breeds would be an interesting read. Full Cry used to reprint some extremely old articles. I always found those articles interesting.

What do they say? Without history we are going to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Would love to see Eugene Walker of Pocahontas Plotts interviewed for the Plott Issuee. He's had a tremendous impact on the Plott breed and has a a wealth of knowledge.

I always liked to see the Legacy Series in the Breed issues. You could see just how a Top Historical Reproducer impacted the Breed. It didn't just give you #'s but names also. And if you picked dogs that were only 10-15 yrs old then there wouldn't be as many offspring to list and maybe you could feature more than one.

So it seems everyone would like to see some Blast From The Past kind of thing. I agree, that would be interesting to see.

I'll add Mike Waltz to the list!

How much does a camera that has a high enough resolution for a cover photo cost? Or what kind of camera do we have to buy? I invested in one once but y'all still said that my pictures were not good enough. I could never figure out just what "resolution" meant. I think that it means "we are not going to use any of your pictures".

I would like to see a story on the mafia bloodline treeing walkers

Now a days, you can pick up a decent pocket camera for $120 or less. My favorite is the Canon brand. And, if you get on Canon's website, you can pick up refurbished ones cheaper - https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/...;pageSize:&
Right now, they don't have many on there, but watch that link when it comes close to Black Friday and you'll get a steal. I've purchased multiple refurbished cameras and they never disappoint.
Make sure the settings are turned up to the highest quality and you should have decent pictures that are cover materiel.

Now if you want really nice super high quality, I'm talking you can see every hair on a dog, get a Digital SLR. Be prepared to pay for this kind and a good lens. Low end you'll pay $500, high end $1,000 and WAY on up.

I have a Canon digital. I guess that they just didn't like my Redbones. "Not high enough resolution" sounds a lot better than "your dogs are just too ugly". I am beginning to feel like Tarbaby.

Well, I can't help you with that problem! Lol
