Louisiana State Champion

Congratulations to owners Johnny King and Bobby Barber with Pipe Dream. High scoring female at the state hunt in Winnfield, Louisiana. Pipe Dream was handled by Burt Stephens.

Wayne, was there a Nitech cast Friday night that came in with 1100+ points, but card was thrown out by the MOH because they thought it was impossible. Just trying to clear up a rumor, because I can see where it would be possible myself if everything went just right. Thanks

I saw the scorecard

The scoring LOOKED legitimate. One dog was withdrawn. The bottom section of the card showing coons seen, judge's signature etc. was not filled in, but all cast members signed the card.
I do know that a dog was stolen from a dogbox right after the hunt while everyone was in the clubhouse. The law was called & a report filed. According to those at the hunt, the thief let down the tailgate, opened the dogbox, removed the dog, closed the dogbox & put the tailgate back up. The owner went to get his dog for a win photo & only then discovered his dog was gone.
I hope the dog has been found safe & sound.
If not, maybe a description of the dog can be posted in case the dog turns up somewhere.

The dog was found the next night in the same place that the cast left the woods from. All collars still on the dog.

David did (can't remember his name but he came with you on King's benefit hunt that time where my Dad and George's dog treed in Saline Lake) find his English dog Jed Friday night? Thanks

I didn't know that he had lost his dog. His name is Zach Parker and he lives in Chatham. I will have to call and check.

Thad, the Nt. Ch. cast that scored 1100 points was thrown out. I have no knowledge about what was treed. I had left by the time the cast was disqualified. I was told that the hunting guide was not on the grounds at drawout which is not in accordance with the rules and that the winner of the cast also owned the other dog that hunted in what ended up being a 2 dog cast. Dogs with common ownership are to be hunted in separate casts if possible according to the rules. This is all heresay, as I wasn't present. I really never got an offical version of why the cast was disqualified.

Thanks Wayne, that scenario sounds a little more realistic than just disqualifying the cast because of the score, which was what I had heard first. David, he and his friend were going to look for him when we left, he had a weak signal on his collar, my system showed that he may have been treed, I didn't come back Sat. night because of what took place Fri. night and wanted to make sure he found his dog. Thanks

Zack could tell you the story about the hunt, I had fun, but did opt to bring a question back to the MOH about the scoring of a tree, Zack was looking for his dog, not sure if he would have backed me in front of all those people ( I was a little shy about it myself LOL)or not had he been there, the other guy stood right beside me and didn't say a word, that was disappointing. What really took the cake was the way Lisa handled it. She didn't give a D**N what I had to say and plainly showed that in front of everyone. A friend of mine went back Sat. night and said the guy that stood beside me and kept quiet came back also that night wanting to appologize, and he also said Zack said he should've came back with us also. It's safe to say UKC won't get anymore of my money around this area. Unless maybe Jack is the MOH, had no problem with him. Guy and Lisa seem to not want conflict, which is good, but when it means people are getting the shaft at these hunts, because they don't want to tell thier friends/big shot hunters that they are/were wrong. Sorry to sound like I'm whinning but this makes the third time that something like this has happened to that dog, but only the first time it was handle correctly as far as the questioning procedure. The time at Natch. come to find out Guy needs to look at the stationary rule a little better, it wasn't questioned correctly so it doesn't matter, but for his knowing incase it happens to someone else, doesn't apply to tree that has already been scored.
