A pound of McDonalds has way more calories then a pound of chicken breast too don't mean its better. Pro Plan is the best feed I've ever fed in almost 30 years of feeding hounds but man do they make you pay for it.
Ive also fed the red bag of Victor that I liked a lot but still not cheap but cheaper per pound then Pro Plan.

I fed proplan for probably 10 years and the quality has steadily declined while the price has increased.

Southern Pride performance in the black bag is only $24 for a 50lb bag. It may not be the "best" but it is certainly a good feed and you can't beat the price.

I wonder if Diamond Extreme Athlete would be comparable to Purina Pro Plan? I just bought some, so will see in a couple months if i like it, or not. I liked feeding Purina Pro Plan Sport, but i'm starting to cringe each time i load a bag in the shopping cart.

Extreme Dog Fuel

If you can find it in your area, you should try Extreme Dog Fuel. They make a great product at a great price.

Their 30/20 is one of the few dog feed formulas on Dog Food Adviser that has 5 Stars.

Everyone I know that has swapped has been blown away, including myself.
