Allergies

Anybody have allergy problems? My young dog has recently started beating a hot track to death just can’t smell anything it seems. And can definitely fly with a track normally. He is still managing to tree a few but really struggling the past few weeks. If so what works to get it under control?

Ours have always had some allergy issues. About 2x a year they require an allergy shot and at various times I have put them on Zyrtec once a day and a couple of times they've required antibiotics for sinus infection.
The shot works great for longer term and usually gets them through whatever is going on. The pills do not need to be used with the shot. Vet can give a Depo medrol or Kenalog injection.

I don't know if mine had an allergy problem, but she couldn't move a track and didn't tree at all for two weeks. In December I decided to give her better (more expensive) dog food for the winter. When she didn't tree a coon in two weeks all I knew that was different was her dog food. I switched back to the feed she was raised on. In about a week she was her old self again. The different food didn't affect her sister at all.

Thanks for the reply’s. I got him a depo shot and started him on some allergy meds. Gonna give him a week off out of the woods. See if that helps clear him up he is still managing to tree coons just looks bad doing it. A lot of them I know are red hot I saw them on the ground when I pull up. And know he can do it right. He is on victor hi pro + been on it most his life.
