If I breed up a 3/4 Bluetick 1/4 whatever stud dog and cross him on pure bluetick females, can the pups be registered bluetick? They would be 7/8 Bluetick which I believe is the minimum requirement.
Some have told me that the only way they can get back into the breed is to be accepted by the breed association. I would think that UKC should have the say so over this as it is their registry.
Breeders years ago often bred a little "wild blood" into their stock every few generations and just didn't say anything. I think crossing out and then coming back to pure could help in a lot of ways. Not just in performance but health related as well.
My Blues were all purebred but not UKC registered. I started Breeding my females to UKC sires in 2014 When UKC changed Single registration to X-Bred. When a Hound has 3 Generations(14 UKC hounds in it linage). You must summit a letter stating these pups qualify to be registered Bluetick Coonhound with the puppy application fee plus 30.00 for bred transfer fee. If you are interested in percentages, 80% co-efficiency.
