E collar training

I just recently got an e-collar. I know many dogs have been ruined by them and really don't want to do that. I have a dog that has fallen in love with Armadillos. Do I call her off the hole and then shock her if she doesn't come or do I just shock her when she sticks her head in the hole?

As long as it not a pup just starting. I wouldnt say aword and just light them up. They will associate that unpleasentness with the possimn pn a half shell in your case. Be consistent in what you do. I dont think you can ruin one with a collar. I have seen some get collar wise though. My .02 others will have other opinions
