After much searching I didn't find one on here so starting one for anyone to post on and starting it with our old dogs birthday today.

Happy Birthday to our family's dog the $50 open spotted puppy, GRNITECH PKC SCH Redneck Mafia turned 12 today. He is pretty well retired from hunting now but for a turn out or two can still tree coons. He still has to wear a Garmin collar just to run loose in the yard, in between naps he likes to sneak off to tree daytime coons. For years and years he was hunted 4-6 nights a week in any conditions and all sorts of terrain made it look easy very seldom ever missing. He has blessed us with pups and now grandpups. I ran his reproduction numbers today and with the latest records I have he is at 28.77%, 139 pups with 40 having a NITECH or GRNITECH degree. When he was retired from breeding he was #1 on UKC's Top Producers list, was also #1 overall in any breed at almost 21% and collected a few checks from that other kennel club for reproduction standings.

My old dog turned 13 in December. I would give a hefty price if he could be 6 years old again been one of the best I have ever seen. Dave

He'd probably choke to death on a steak but short of a coon or female may go out happy lol.
They get old fast, seems like yesterday he treed his first coon.

Mafia's numbers would be better but for dogs like mine who don't get to go to town. I have a son of Mafia that is the nicest dog I have owned in 60 years of coon hunting. I also have a Shack pup that I have great hopes for.

Ladies and gentlemen I can Vouch for Preacher on that he is a real nice dog for sure. And I ain't a walker man , but I ain't color blind either. I have hunted with 4 or 5 Mafia dogs and they have all been pretty dang nice hounds for sure.

He has been a blessing to us! He taught both my girls what a coon hound was, and is the measuring stick that they both use. He hasn't got to the point physically that he is breaking down. Defiantly lost a step or two but in his mind he is still the man!

Well you know it's going to happen someday. I had her at a freinds house as old as she was you could not go hunting without her throwing a hissy fit and I live in town. But I have her son and her niece I will raise one more litter just because I have 6 freinds that want a pup and I give mine to freinds.



But I been thinking on getting me some beagles lol.

I haven't had a hound since I lost LOOSER. However I do have a coon treeing bully 😁. I have a video on my line app 😏.

She's 8 now this week. Trained her to work cows and as personal protection. Not really sure how she figured out to tree coon tbh.

Amazing what some if these old dogs mean to us, it's really hard to out in words. In some ways we see ourselves aging like our dogs, not being as able to do the things we done when younger, no longer at the top of our game. I usually keep my dogs until they die, as I know they will be well cared for in their older years. I gave 2 dogs away this year just so they would get hunted, hopefully they will have a good life. My best dog [retired ] just turned 13 in December, he will die here, he has given me a lifetime of excellent memories of coonhunting. It never got too bad for him to tree a coon, he has earned his retirement. Dave

My plott is 9 1/2 years old. I lost a 15 year old dog 2 1/2 years ago and I haven't been the same since. So seeing this dog age really saddens me. I'm 70 years old and thinking about getting my last dog, a mountain cur.
