How long

How long should you keep a pup on puppy food? I know the bag will tell you a year, but I’ve never waited that long!
After 8-9 months I normally switch over to adult feed.
What’s your thoughts?

It is formulated to keep them on it until they quit growing. But it is so high powered now, they will get almost too big if you keep them on it past 4 or 5 mos. And high quality adult feed is loaded down with all of the vitamins and minerals and omegas plus some now.

I don’t know if it’s right or not but I usually feed them a couple bags of proplan large breed puppy, then switch them to the regular pro plan I feed my adult dogs. I am by no means a expert but have not had any problems doing this. Usually by 4-5 months old they are on adult feed
