Help

With every ones help maybe I can come up with a cure for an ear problem in my hound, her left ear has a discharge, looks like pus, have had her to 3-vets all said no mites. just an infection, but with all the treatments it comes back in a week or two. been going on for over a year now. I clean it every day, before putting the medicine in, the crud looks like dried blood. Thanks for any suggestions.

Find out what is causing the infection and fix it. Is the infection fungal or bacterial? Do a C & S to find out what to fight it with and load your dog up with it. You might need to get a new vet if he hasn't already done this.

Probably a yeast infection which is caused by a fungus along with possible staph as long as it has been going on. You may try Zymox it can treat bacteria and fungus, you can buy it OTC. You may also change the food you are feeding your dog some develope allegeries to certain ingredients that can manifest into different skin and ear disorders.
Your vet should have swabbed the ear a long time ago to test for what was causing the problem.

Tooth

I only had this happen once in over 30 years of raising dogs, but as a small possibility check to make sure the dog doesn't have a bad tooth. Not sure how old the dog is but mine was 12 years old and the bad tooth brought on the ear infection. I'd tend to believe it's more likely a yeast infection like the Cummings family said, but thought I'd put the tooth infection out there just in case. Best of luck!
