Dogs not there get minus tree points (because they were called treed they are responsible for tree points) and they keep strike points open. Dogs that stayed get tree points deleted but get plus strike points per caught coon.

Dogs gone are minused their tree points. Dogs that are there are plussed their strike points. Start the 8 on the dogs that are gone. If coon is not a fresh kill strike and tree deleted for ones there the ones that are gone are still minused.

I guess that it all depends on what you mean by "gone". Rule says that if dogs catch a coon on the ground they get their strike points plussed. It doesn't say that they have to be there when you get there. Most dogs will go on after the coon is dead. When they got there no dog was "treed". Why would you delete the tree points of the dogs that were there but minus the dogs that left? Actually it is a judgement call. Did all of the dogs "catch a coon on the ground"?

Now Richard, if some dogs were gone when the cast arrived, how could you possibly know they were ever there in the first place? They were declared treed and now they are not, that's minus tree points. I fail to see how that is a judgement call.

What about the dogs that were there? They were declared treed but now they are not.
The judgement would be whether all dogs caught the coon on the ground.

Come on Richard, UKC has a specific rule to cover the dogs that are there. You know that.
You are now arguing just for the sake of arguing. You really miss Tar that much?

Jim, I argued your way two different times to two different MOH's and was overruled both times. So I figured that I would post what they told me.

You could write a 6 inch thick book of bogus rulings by MOH's nationwide. The average ruling by the average MOH is so completely worthless that they seldom, if ever, bare repeating. I can think of few things more useless than "well, a MOH told me.....".

Oh yes, there are some really good and very knowledgeable MOH's out there. God bless'em! Because they are harder to find than a good mule.
