Needing advice on snake boots please

I've never owned a pair. Looking for as much information as possible from lace up to zipper, durability and being waterproof. All help would be appreciated.

Eric/ snakeboot

I have both zipper and lace up, I believe you would be better off with lace ups, as the zippers tend to mess up. I have both the Rocky brand and Chippewa brand and I prefer the Chippawas. Hope this helps. Dave

Check out the Irish setter vaprtrek. 17 inch Lace up and never had a leak.. $200 and worth every penny. But to me they run a little small. I'm normally a 12 and wear a 13 in these.

How many people have ever been bitten in the leg by a snake?

Lots. Here in NC you won't catch me in the woods in the summer without chaps or snake boots. Copperhead bit a guy here last year. He was wearing a regular old 9inch leather boot. One fang hit the top of the boot and the other got his leg.

That's why I wear snake proof hip boots. If a snake bites me it's gonna be in the butt. Then I won't be able to get anybody to suck the poison out. LOL

Snake Boots

Eric, The Dans snake proof chaps are good. If it's boots you want check out Jr. Raber on Duffy Rd.

As a land surveyor by day and a coon hunter by night I've tried several different brands and pair of snake boots.
I use the dans snake chap/hip waders with the dans boot and are pretty comfortable but you will sweat your arse off in the summer wearing them. I have had the same pair for two years and they held up great, thankfully I am yet to test them against a snake. I did however have a coon bite through the boot and tear it narrowly missing my big toe. Man that was bad coon whipped two dogs then came at me.

I also have a pair of lacrosse zip up and lace man those jokers are uncomfortable. And have had Justin slip on/zipup they were awesome for limited wear but after a couple of hours they would start rubbing and that's a no go. Thinking off switching up to danner tried a pair on the other day and from the amount of time I had them on they were pretty light and seemed very comfortable.

Danner pull on, no laces, no zippers. Comfortable, snake proof water proof so far.....just expensive.

i have never been bitten in the leg. i was struck by a 4 foot timber ratter . i can tell that the reptile badlands chaps i had on were well worth the money i spent on them . they are a little stiff and hot in the summer but i feel safe when i wear them .
