MY HUNTIN BUDDY,AND ANOTHER FRIEND WERE COONHUNTIN THE NIGHT BEFORE LAST. MY BUDDY WAS LOOKIN AT HIS GARMIN AS HE SEEN A TRUCK GOING ACROSS A CORNFIELD TOWARDS HIS DOG .HE STARTED WALKING TOWARDS THE TRUCK OUT IN THE FIELD AS IT TOOK OFF HE THOUGHT HIS DOG WAS JUST STANDIN THERE IN THE FIELD ,AS HE GOT CLOSER HE REALIZED HIS TRACKING COLLAR WAS TAKEN OFF HIS DOG AND LAYING ON THE GROUND. THE BUDDY HUNTIN WITH HIM TOOK OFF RUNNING TOWARDS THER TRUCK AND TODD RAN TOWARDS THE TRUCK DRIVEN BY THE DOG THIEF. THERE WAS ONLY ONE WAY INTO WHERE THEY WERE HUNTIN.AND ONE WAY OUT TODDS BUDDY DROVE TO THAT AREA AND BLOCKED THE GATE SO THEY COULDNT GET OUT OF THERE. THE THIEF TRUCK STOPED AND ASKED HIM TO MOVE THE TRUCK SO HE COULD LEAVE BUTT HE SAID NO. AT THIS TIME TODD WAS COMING TOWARDS THEM. WHEN HE GOT TO THE TRUCKS TODD OPENED THE TRUCKS TAILGATE AND THERE WAS HIS HOUND IN THIS GUYS DOG BOX. A LOT OF WORDS WERE EXCHANGED AND AS TODD WAS TRYING TO GET HIS DOG OUT OF THE BOX THIS GUY SLAMED THE TAILGATE AND CAUGHT THE DOG IN BETWEEN. TODD CLEANED THIS GUYS CLOCK GAVE THIS DOG THIEF A GOOD WORKIN OVER WHAT ID CALL A GOOD BUTT KICKIN. BY THIS TIME THE POLICE AND CONSERVATION POLICE WERE ON THERE WAY.WHEN THE POLICE SHOWED UP THE THIEF WENT TO TELLIN THE OFFICER HOW TODD KICKED HIS A$$ BEAT HIM UP. THE OFFICER WAS TOLD THIS GUY JUST FELL DOWN THATS HOW HE GOT HIS INJURYS AND TOLD THE OFFICER HOW THIS GUY TTOOK HIS DOGS COLLAR OFF AND WAS STEALING HIS DOG. THE THIEF WENT TO JAIL AND WAS WROTE A NUMBER OF TICKETS FOR GUNS IN HIS TRUCK THAT WERE NOT CASED AND A FEW OTHER THINGS, NOW HERE COMES THE KICKER,,, THE NEXT DAY THIS LOWDOWN DOG STEALIN THIEF WAS GONA PRESS CHARGES AGAINST TODD FOR ASSULTING HIM ...THIS STORY IS NOW CHANGING DIRECTIONS THAT TODD MIGHT BE THE BAD GUY HERE ,,,WOW ! AFTER THE POLICE OFFICER TALKED TO THE THIEF AND TOLD HIM HOW MUCH TROUBLE HE IS IN ,DECIDED TO NOT PRESS CHARGES. I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT LOWLIFE DOG STEALER IS GONA END UP GETIN OUT OF THIS ,,,BUT IM SO GLAD BROTHER TODD RUBBED KNOTS ON HIS HEAD,BUSTED A LIP, AND MAYBE A TOOTH MISSING,A BLACK EYE AND SOME BRUISES ... A DOG THIEF CAUGHT RED HANDED AND IM REAL PROUD OF MR TODD ,,,THANKS BUDDY,,,RON

I tip my hat to this Todd feller..Glad he stood up for what he believes it..I heard theres a couple in Fairfield,IL drivin out in the country stealin dogs. My brother has Mrs Thompson waitin for em..Thompson Centerfire 50 cal. lol.

Glad he got his dog back.
Do you have any idea what charges/punishment the dog thief will get? Hope alot more than your buddy gave him. JMO, but I think the police should go to his home and ck for other missing dogs.

I was way across a corn field and truck parked in the ditch along a blacktop couple weeks ago . I saw a truck slow down and stop by my truck could see someone get out and walk infront of head lights to my truck, I shinned my light on bright across the field and they got back in theirs and left fast! Makes me wonder now! Send me a pm on name, Thanks Ron

Had the exact same thing happen years ago with OLE JOE. No JOE. Collar in ditch. Everyone in the UKC Hunt took off looking for JOE. Thieves must have thrown him out of Truck or he Jumped. At least Ray got him back. Glad everything worked out well for You & your dog, Happy New Year.

Glad he got the dog back safely.
I lost two dogs years ago before gps. I found one the next day going down the road. I looked all and couldn’t get a signal off ththe beep collar. Finally I got faint signal. Drove to it but thinking the dog was hit on the road I finally got a strong signal. I found the dog in a inclosed porch and the collar inside the house. I took the dog and called the police. All the police would do is give me my collar back.
Just glad a dog thief got his due beating
