best hunting in Oklahoma

I am considering moving to Oklahoma in the near future

where is the best hunting in the state and why?

I just don't want to be in the mountains! LOL

I have been in the Mississippi River Delta for over 20 years and love this flatland hunting

is there much state owned land/public hunting? what are the usual dates you can hunt these places?

Thanks in advance

I hunted around Perry Ok with Gene DeGrafenreid, Gene is deceased now. Sure was good hunting. West of Miami Ok 30 miles & north to the Kansas line pretty nice.

Our state WMAs are open for 6-7 weeks depending on which one. Open about the middle of Jan and open until the end of Feb. No hunting on them the rest of the year. Looks like Oklahoma is hunter friendly if I am reading this right. 10 months a year you can hunt and closed during deer season for 2 months. That is outstanding.

1000000 acres is approximately 40 mile square. That's all the hunting an old fella like Ritchie needs.
