What if?

If you could go back in time (until the present) and you could take any redbone female and breed it to a redbone male...which mating pair would you choose and why?

I wish Maw Barker and Wade's Bush females were around when I had a few of my good males over the years. I would love to see what they produced. Females of this caliber were really hard to come by 20 years ago.

Question

If we are truly breeding the best of what we have to what we believe is the best we have . Should we need to go back in time to dog's of the past ? Are we not producing better dog's now ? Are dog's of today not better then dog's of yesterday? I hope they are but if not we are going backwards and hurting our self . All my friends hunt walkers plott and blueticks . They say a good redbone is far and few between . I have started from the bottom with dog's I have pushed pulled and dragged dog's through the woods and did the proper thing and culled them all . My first mistake all redbones are not equal but I believe all lines contribute one way or another . I have 4000 $ worth of red dog's on the yard and only a select few will maybe make it and nobody by my side nobody cheering me on no Team . I'm invested and will continue to be and I will produce better dog's heart drive smarts looks track and tree to the absolute best of my ability . I know how I am looked at i know most think I'm a joke . But believe they ain't no quit in me and when my dues are paid I will have bettered the breed in every aspect .
