What do you do next?

I have a 4 year old female blue dog that's well papered. She had puppies this morning. I got them and her in a safe whelping box with bedding. Is there anything I need to do for her, like extra food or water or do I just leave her alone? Do I need to hang a heat lamp? They're well papered pups on both sides. I'd add a picture but I'm not sure how to do that. Thank you I hope your day is going well

I just raised my first litter in July so I may not be much advice. I asked the guy that I bred me female to and he suggested that I leave them and her alone for the first couple of days. I put a fan where she could get to it but not on the puppies. Then I gave her about 3 times the amount of food she normal eats and dumped a pint of milk replacer on it that was half cut. I hope there is some info in there to help you best of luck to you hope they turn out to be a bunch of coon treeers

I always like feeding raw beef liver cut in chunks mixed with cottage cheese. I feel like the female gets some iron and calcium back plus it sure has made mine milk like a Jersy cow. But it's just my opinion. It's worked for me in the past.

IM NOT A FAN OF ALOTTA FEED IN THE FIRST FEW DAYS, FOR FEAR THEY WILL GET MILK FEVER I JUST MAKE SURE THEY GET THE NORMAL SHARE THEN I GIVE THEM ALL THEY WANT BY DAY 5, I RAISE SEVERAL PUPS AND IT SEEMS TO WORK. ALL I KNOW IS YOU DONT WANNA MESS WITH THEM TO MUCH FOR A FEW DAYS BECAUSE SHE IS SO NERVOUS AND WILL SMASH THEM, I ALSO BUILT RAILS ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX ABOUT 4 INCHES OUT 6 INCHES UP SO THEY HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO LAY AND SHE CANT. BEST OF LUCK!! AND GREAT HUNTING SIR

I've learned that the hard way the past few days she smashed 2. I started at 15 there's 11 now. They're over a week now and looking pretty good. They're starting to tick up nicely already.
