9 month old aggressive at tree..help!

I sent my 9 month old Black and Tan pup to a trainer for 30 days. So far he's been there 2 weeks but the trainer has ran into a problem. 3 nights ago he suddenly got aggressive with the other dogs while at the tree and has progressively gotten worse.

With our dogs at home he never showed any aggression and was always the low dog in the pack.

I need suggestions on how to solve this. He's been hunted with different dogs and he's only been hunted a few times by himself.

If he's aggressive at that age I wouldn't waste any more time or money on him.

First thing is to get him home and evaluate the problem. Tell that guy not to do anything else with him. Just curious, was at a tree or a caged coon?

Yes what joey said !! you send dogs off to trainers you dont have a clue what they turn loose with or how they handle those dogs!! sounds like he is traing in a pack tho !! if hes getting agressive around a tree!! it dont take much dumb stuff to flip a young dog over!! get him home first thing!! what joey said !!good luck

The trainer has only been hunting him with other dogs, never alone. Shocking him was an option we discussed but the trainer took him out again and when he started getting aggressive he whooped him and after that he was very skittish about going back to the tree. He's coming back early and I'm just going to give him a break and hunt him alone for a while.

There are a few things that cause this, one is he is just aggressive around a tree. Another is he is too excited and just doesn't know what to do with all of it. One more is fear, this one causes more aggression than any other. He cant understand whats going on but wants to be part of it. The problem is he is afraid of the other dogs barking right next to his head. His first response is to back them up. I would suggest putting the dog up and letting it mature. Make sure its socialized well with other dogs when its put up.
