DC50 Collar issue?

I have a DC 50 collar I bought with my 320, and it seemed like it had a pretty good battery life when i got it, but the last few times i hunted with it its been dying pretty quickly. ive also had trouble with it loosing communication at fairly close distances (500yards or so). i pulled it off the charger to go hunting last nite and now it doesnt seem to have taken a charge and it wont turn on. has anyone had this issue before? is it worth sending in to Garmin? (it is not under warranty) or is there someone else (better?) i could send it to to be redone? or do i need to just say to hell with it and buy a t5?

.

You kind of touched on 3 separate issues and depending on which one it really is. Determines your decision on what to do.

First the dying quickly and I assume turning itself off can be fixed with you putting in a replacement battery. Typically 35-45 bucks.

Loosing signal could be a number of things.

Now not coming on at all could be the big issue. When you put it on the charger does the charging light come on. If it does then try turning it on while on charger and see what it does. It it tries to come on that that could still be a battery issue.

You can call garmin and for around $100 bucks send it in an get one in return that looks brand new.

unfortunately it all started happening at once, which i thought was strange. the light does come on- turns red and makes the noise. tried to turn it on and it does not respond, even while on the charger. i may just send it in to Garmin if all it costs is $100 for a refurbished one. Thank you!

Do a search on google and see how to do a master reset. Try that first the upgrade it. Use a windows computer.

One of us is confused? You have a DC 50 correct. The charging clip has a USB connection on one end and the clip on the other. That end with the USP connection plugs into your charger or that plugs directly into your computer. If you have a charging clip for the DC 50 you have all you need.
