Alpha question

Just purchased an alpha today and had a few questions.. first off do you absolutely have to register it through garmin because I have seemed to already misplaced my reciept and it says in the manual you will need the reciept to register it.. also do you have to recalibrate it each time you take it in the woods? I had an Astro but to me this is a whole different ball park....and one more thing, when charging the handheld does the screen light stay on the entire time until it's fully charged? Would appreciate any feedback...thanks

I never registered mine. Think I've only recalibrated it once and it actually stays calibrated unlike the Astros I had.
I believe the light stays on while it's plugged in charging but that I'm not 100% sure on

You don't need the reciept you just need the serial number. You get free birds eye when you register it so I would do it.

As far as the screen staying on....you can turn the screen off while charging and it will charge more quickly. To do it I believe you hold the power button down after plugging it into the charger. The instructions on how to do it are in the owners manual.
