14 month old femal English pup. She will run a track but won't tree. Again tonight she ran a great track got quiet sat for about a minute and. It led back to us. I I marked where she stopped and sure enough there was a coon up in the 2nd fork. I've hunted her with other dogs and she doesn't seem interested in them treeing either even in they have the meat. I've hung a dead coon in a fork after shooting one out and shell tree hard on it. Any ideas? Kinda getting worried

Hunt her and quit hanging coons in forks for her.

Use your gamin to stay as close to her as you can. when she stop's at that tree get on her fast before she leaves and praise her up and shoot it out. setting up a bucket can make your life easier because you'll have an idea where she'll tree one.

Try to squall one far enough down the tree that she can see it. It just sounds like she doesn't know they climb. Or doesn't know to check the tree.

i would do some driving around and try to find a hot one crossing the road, cut her on it and see if that will do any good.

Had one for four years as good as one you would see jump run never paid anything else any mind but a coon and a rabbit every now and then i had to cull her because she wouldnt tree at all hunted the hair off of her done everything under the sun to try and get her to tree she just wouldnt do it and i hated it to but dont give up the wilcox dogs sometimes take a little longer than the rest a buddy had one that wouldnt even leave his side at a year an a half then she just broke out and never stopped made a good one just try and see if she might be a late starter

Seems that coon may have been a lay up. Ive had some issue with my pup leaving the tree where coon were. You just got to get them in the woods....a bunch imo. Had my 11 month old out last night. He slammed a coon and then went 700 yrds and slammed a den. Blew the top out of them both. Thats the best hes ever looked and sounded. just give it some time. pay attention to when these kittens start getting down (they have here in southeastern IN), try to put the dog in easy hot coon. Shell run acrossed a hot one one of these nights. If she just simply will not even tree a hot one....i feel its on the verge of a lost cause. Another thought is when hunting her with other dogs, if they tree a coon, tie her back and knock the coon out them and not let her have. That may work.

Me and Dad were hunting one night years ago and a young dog was trailing around and got to milling in one area. We walked in and I found the coon in a tree in the area the dog was working the track. As the dog again got close to the tree Dad popped it out of the tree and of course it came crashing down to the dog who grabbed it. After that happened the dog started finding the trees and treeing good. He did that with another young dog years later and had the same result. Both of those dogs ended up being really good locating dogs that treed coon other dogs passed up. Maybe a coincidence but maybe not.
