Very Special Hunt Tonight!!!!!

Had a GREAT hunt tonight and was able to introduce my middle grandson Emmet (will be 4 next month) to coon hunting with David Linkous' help. We took both Owen and Emmet as Owen said he wanted to teach Emmet how to coon hunt. Hoss didn't let us down despite the full moon. Hoss got treed about 245 yards from where we turned him loose. As we started to leave the tree Emmet said I'M DONE! Let's go to the truck and eat snacks! Lol

I'll take last night's hunt over any nt.ch. or gr.nt.ch title any day. Those two boys had a blast last night.
When we got home their mom was in bed, but Emmet had to climb in bed with her and tell her all about the hunt.

I guess I was a bit in hurry back when i introduced my sons to coon hunting. We took them out strapped to my back.lol

My grand daughters are 5 and 7 and they want to go. So go we will! Puts a whole new twist on the weekend sleep overs. I just never told them sometimes Papa shoots them. How do you guys handle that part?

Memories that will last a life time!! thats how they are made!!i still remember my grandpaw!! on work horse going hunting!! only about 5 then!! just a couple yrs back!!those that dont do this are missing out on simple things and enjoyable things in life!!

Owen loves when we knock one out. He said last night before we left he couldn't wait to knock one out. When I told him season was closed he seemed a little disappointed lol.

Emmet got in bed with his Mom last night and told her all about the hunt, even said but the coon wouldn't come down the tree. Lol

Still enjoy hunts with my.boys the best and they are now grown. But man do I have alot of memories when they were that size. Brings tears of joy to my eyes ,,thanks for the post friend.

I have 2 girls and 1 boy ages from 12 to 6 and if they don't get to hintnon fri nights it makes for a bad couple days fir ol dad . They love it better than eating . My oldest girl is 12 she is a COONHUNTER been following me in these mountains since she was old enough to walk never cries seen dogs treed 400 yards straight up a bluff and her sick and she sat and cried till I felt bad enough to let her go to the tree thank the Lord my kids like the woods keep them in church first and behind hounds makes there time better than having games phones and the rest of todays gimik to not teach them anything

Owen was asking what if coyote attacked us? I told him I'd hit Linkous in the leg with a big stick and grab Him and Emmet and leave Linkous for the yotes.

I don't recall you feeding anyone on our hunting trips snacks at the tailgate...but it's not like anyone on our trips besides Eric NEED snacks! LOL
