Question
I attended my first nite hunt the other night. My dog was doing really good then he blew it in the last 20 minutes of the hunt. He trees second, then when the 3rd dog got in there, he left the tree. Which he's never done before. He went on and treed his own coon. The rest of the dogs got there and he left again. Went and treed another coon. The rest of the cast was leashed so this was only his. Earlier in the night, he would tree with the rest of the cast and stay no problem. Now I got this dog as a pup, raised him and trained him by himself and I hunt him 99.99% of the time by himself. So I'm thinking he's just not used to all the pushing and shoving from other dog and by the end of the night, he got tired of it. I do have other people I hunt with but they don't go often. So is the only way to get him used to treeing with a group of dogs is keep taking him to the hunts and hope he gets used to It? I don't wanna give up on it yet because even though we lost, I had a really good time and would like to try again.
Thanks,
Adam
