Training tips "Dog meeting me off tree"

Just looking for some advice. Got a 12 month old just starting to tree on his own. He is wanting to come off and meet me around 30 feet or so. What do some of you do to try to stop this?
Thanks

Make it more comfortable for him to stay on the tree than to meet you.

I'll tell you how I've always handled it.
When the dog meets me off, I grab the pup up by the collar and spank it all the way back to the tree and then get it up on the tree and treeing right. I do this everytime the pup meets me off. Now when I say spank, I mean that literally. I don't mean flog or beat the dog, I don't even want it to squall. Just spank it like you would a child back to that tree and get it back up and treeing on the tree. Couple times of that usually takes care of it. Hope this helps.

Many times when a dog that "likes to please" is petted up on the tree they begin greeting the handler off the tree to get petted. I never pet one up when I first walk in. Give the dog some time, talk to it, tell it good boy. Just don't pet it until it's job is done and you are ready to leave. Then walk it off a short ways before you pet him up. If it is already a problem do what the above guys say to do.
