Keeping dogs in a barn?

How many of you guys keep your dogs inside? A barn for instance. Pros and cons?

I moved out to the country and put a litter of pups in a barn that had old hay on the ground already thought it was good, but lost all but 2 pups the vet said they had all gotten parvo from live stock. Vet said would have to clean out barn and drench it in bleach to get rid of it... No more barns for my dogs..

We keep my two dogs in the front of the barn and so far have had not porblems. They are near 100 dairy cows. Helps keep them warm over the winter months.
